The Girl Reborn / Neteyam x reader

I saw y/n's eyes open looking around.  I could see everything playing on her face in a split second.  Her hand squeezed my hand as I picked her arm up putting it by my face.  I let out a breath and smiled as did everyone else.  "She's awake," Tuk said quietly walking back in with Kiri

Like she realized what happened she started crying and my heart sunk.  This wasn't fair to her.  Her face looked hurt and scared and I had no clue what to do.  I felt like if I did anything I was going to hurt her.  She curled over to her side bawling and putting her other hand to her face covering it and used the arm I was holding to cover her body holding herself.

I put my hand lightly under her head and over her arm, barely applying and pressure.  I wanted her to know I was here for her.  My family gathered around thanking Ronal as well.  My family said lighthearted things to her like, shh you're okay, we're here and things along it while lightly placing their hands on her to smooth her.  I couldn't speak, my throat was tight and I knew she just needed physical touch. 

After couple minutes of y'n crying she calmed down a little, running out of tears.  She looked into my eyes removing her hand from her face and grabbing my hand.  She smiled at me with a sad smile.  I returned it.

Her eyes were red and were saying she was sorry with them. 

"Neteyam, I'm-" y/n started whispering but I cut her off.

"You don't need to be sorry love,"  My voice hoarse, "I'm so sorry I wasn't there sooner" I told her cracking a little.

"It's not your fault okay?" She told me, "Okay?" She asked me and I just nodded my head. 

"We thought we lost you," I told her

She went to put her hand on my face but grunted, I could see her wanting to cry again but holding back tears.  I moved my face closer to hers so she wouldn't have to move. 

She looked at everyone and turned back to me looking into my soul, "You guys aren't going to loose me that easily," she said trying to smile.  I lightly laid my head on her forhead and smiled back.  I couldn't see them but everyone else smiled too seeing y/n fighting through and trying to make everyone else laugh even though she was hurting. 

As we sat their for a minute I heard her whisper, "Neteyam, you're my everything and I want you to know that I care about you more than I ever thought I would... Thank you, I need you to know that you're my reason."  We smiled at each other. 

"You know, you care about me more than you thought you would because the first time we met you were contimplaiting killing me," I laughed and she chuckled lightly as to not mover her chest or stomach. 

I could hear my parents reaction, they weren't mad but they found the irony in it given that's how mom met dad.  My siblings laughed. 

"Do you want to stay in our hut tonight so we can keep an eye on you?"  Dad asked y/n. 

She looked over at him, "I can't ask you guys to do that I'm sure I'll be fine" She stated trying to sit herself up grunting.  I tried to help her a little.

"Now isn't the time to be stubborn y/n" Ronal told her "you took some serious damage and we all want whats best for you"

"We want to y/n/n," Neytiri said and Y/n smiled at them and nodded.

She tried to stand up on her own but kind of failing.  I helped her and let her take her time getting up.  When she finally got up I held both of her hands to keep her stable.  She looked at the ground angry at her feet.  I could tell she hated feeling weak, "You're strong lovely, don't get mad at yourself," I simply reminded her.

She looked at me with sadness in her eyes like she was failing but I reassured her of my sentence.  Lo'ak got on one side of her so we could help her on both sides.  She was putting more weight on my side than Lo'aks which I was perfectly okay with.  That let me know she trusted me enough to hold her vunerable.

We stepped outside being greeted with the chief and a lot of the clan members.  They were all praying to Eywa for her recovery.  When they saw her they cheered, she smiled and we continued walking.  I could see right through it though, she was still hurting each step hurting more and more.

She stopped and I felt her stumble as she looked into the crowd and saw the same guy who did this to her. 

"That's him," She whispered to me.  I looked over to the chief and my dad and looked back at the guy who stood in the back with a busted face, they nodded at me and knew what I meant. 

"Let's just get you to the hut, he can't and won't do anything there."  I told her as we started walking again.

We made it back to the hut, halfway through she had me pick her up and carry her.  When we got back I changed her oxygen for her and put one of the button up shirts Kiri got from the lab on her.  I made my mat extra comfortable for her to sleep on.  I was about to walk out to keep watch when grabbed my hand, "Can you please sleep by me tonight?" she asked.

"Of course love," I told her and she smiled closing her eyes.

I wish I could tell you how much I love you y/n, I see you, I see everything about you.
