Trust me

And just like that I was scared.  I stared at lo'ak  and shook my head no. 

"Lo'ak take her and go," neteyam yelled and lo'ak grabbed my wrist trying to leave, I pulled it away.  This isn't supposed to happen.  "Y/n baby, please go," neteyam begged me. 

"I'm not leaving without you," I told him.  I looked at lo'ak and told him to go. 

Lo'ak looked between Neteyam and I deciding who to listen to. We both gave him a serious look saying to listen to us.

Everything felt in slow motion, Lo'ak looked at spider and turned back to us. "Sorry dude, y/n is ruthless" lo'ak laughed.

"Lo'ak take her please," Neteyam begged

Lo'ak took spider and jumped into the water and they both made it.  I looked at neteyam who was pleading with me. 

"You wars are mine and I will always stand by you," I told him and we looked at each other.

I popped my head out to see the guys getting closer. I tried to fire at them again but Neteyam pulled me back in.

"They're getting closer Neteyam," I told him seriously and trying to take aim.

He pushed my gun down absolutely scared but made him look angry, he placed his hands on my shoulders and looked into my eyes.

"Babygirl why would you do that? You could have easily gotten out of here safely," Neteyam asked me and I just can't even with his logic.

"Do you think me getting out of here safely means anything if you're not by my side? How will I explain that to everyone?" I yelled at him. "Neteyam I need you in my life and I will always protect you, I will always stand by you in times of war,"

I took the chance of him being distracted and fired my gun at the guys. This causing them to take cover.

"I wouldn't want anyone else standing by my side but I also want to see you by the end of this." He told me referring to the stand off we were having.

"You will Neteyam, I'm not going anywhere and like I said, I will always be right here," I told him holding onto his hand.

We both looked at each other and nodded placing our foreheads together. We both popped around the corner taking more shots.

I had such good luck earlier with aim and now I can't do it worth shit. We fired until Neteyam ran out of bullets and he tossed his gun putting a hand on his head.

"It's Fine ive still got a lot," I told him and tried firing again. I got a couple rounds out before my gun jammed. I smacked it a few times trying to fix it, "I had a lot," I said chuckling.

Okay so what do we do now? All we can do it jump but maybe if I tricked them again maybe it'll help.

As I said that in my head I saw one of the seeds from my spirit tree. It's not normal for this to float all the way out here unless I'm right where I'm supposed to be.

My thoughts become clear and my idea of tricking them is what I need to do. It disappeared out of sight and I turned to Neteyam.

"Trust me," I told Neteyam and tried to walk out from our cubby. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back, "oh lover boy, what little faith you have in me." Told him smiling and made the tear works work again.

"Can you guys help me? I was taken and I'm lost and scared" I said with my voice cracking sticking my hands out slowly to surrender. "I thought you guys were with the people who took me away from the people keeping me safe,"

I popped my head from behind the corner still being held at gun point, "I'm scared and mean no harm" I told them crying some more to make it believable.

"Okay come out hands up and back towards us," he yelled and I slowly did as he said. Stepping out from the cubby my heart was pounding.

I looked to my side at Neteyam giving me the widest eyes ever. "On the count of three," I mouth to him and looked at the water. He looked at me with pleading eyes.

I sense I made a mistake with this plan and not running it by him but I will not let him get hurt.

I stayed where I was told hearing them call in the situation.

"One" I told Neteyam looking at him with wide eyes to get on board. "We will die if you don't listen to me," I mouthed to him.

Neteyam just looked at me getting on board with the plan but not happy with me shaking his head.

"Two" I told him hearing the guys talking more into the radio. I know they're going to find out who I am and threes just going to have to come quick.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Releasing it looking at Neteyam in the eyes, "three" I said as I heard them figure out who I am.

It felt like everything was so slow. I heard them Shuffle and saw Neteyam taking a leap forward. I heard the guns come up and knew what I had to do as soon as I saw the sapling again. Neteyam ran to the side of the pool getting ready to dive into the ocean, and I was right behind him when he jumped.

I placed my hands on his shoulders when he knelt down and threw myself up to protect his torso from the bullets and to pull myself over the ledge.

In mid air I felt the piercing pains of a bullet go right through my chest and lost my grip on Neteyam as we fell into the water.

I felt the water submerge around me and even though I had my mask I felt like I couldn't breath. Neteyam was so focused on just getting us to the surface he didn't look behind him. He must of thought I made it just like him. Like I always do... like I said I would.

I looked around and saw his hand as he swam and reached for it barely touching it. He felt my hand graze his and grabbed mine back as we swam up him mainly pulling me up.

We got to the surface and he looked so happy, I on the other hand did not. He must of thought I didn't get shot. I held my chest with one hand and tried to keep myself afloat.

He swam over to his brother and they hugged each other and spider. Tsireya was there too with an Ilu and got down to greet Lo'ak

"We did it love, your plan worked," Neteyam said to me as he turned around and barely saw my head above water. "Love, y/n?" He rushed over to me to hold me up.

"Yeah we did do it, lover boy," I said trying to smile. "Well you guys did it," I said moving my hand to show my wound.

"Y/n" Tsireya said softly eyes saying she was scared for more.

No one eyes said anything more than Neteyams. He held me watching the water and blood mix together. The next thing I knew he pulled me onto his chest and held me close as he got on the Ilu backwards setting me down behind him.

He was hurt and he was scared. He didn't understand though, this is what I was supposed to do. I was his protector, this was the message from Eywa that I needed to protect him.

"Lo'ak help," Neteyam yelled at his brother who was just watching. Lo'ak snapped out of it and held me up on the Ilu from behind me. Neteyam put himself in the right position and faced forward.

"Dad! Mom! Help it's y/n she got shot!" Neteyam yelled into the mic starting to crying.

"Shhh don't cry," I told him and rubbed his back, "I did what Eywa wanted me to," I said smiling. Lo'ak whistled in my ear quietly, i knew this was it so I didn't whistle back and just lightly shook my head no. I could feel lo'ak move from under me and hold me tighter. I held my necklace Neteyam gave to me to tried to comfort myself.

You see!! There was no way I was letting Neteyam die!
