The Girl Reborn / Neteyam x reader

Scolding

I looked at Neteyam and back at his parents. They didn't look pissed but the did look a little upset.

Jake walked over to us first with Neytiri behind him. He looked down at me and shook his head.

"What were you thinking that's the chiefs son," Jake said in a whisper yell.

"Who's a complete ass," I told him crossing my arms defensively.

"Still that doesnt give you the right to start a fight" Jake said pointing.

"She didn't start it, blame me I should of stopped it," Neteyam said stepping forward.

I put my hand to his chest to stop him, "no you're not taking the blame for something you didn't do," I told him looking at him.

"Y/n, what happened? Truthfully?" Neytiri said stepping forward.

"I defended myself after I tried to be civil with him and that's all that matters," I said looking between them back and forth.

"Yeah but you said something that made him snap just so you didn't hit him first," Jake told me, "I knew the look you gave him"

"I didn't give him 'a look'" I said quoting him.

"Y/n," Neytiri said looking at me.

I hated that they were nagging me about this.  It hurt what he said and I just wanted to forget it.  It made me angry and I don't want to speak of it.

"I don't want to say what he told to me first," I said looking between them sternly.

"Wait he said something to you first," Neteyam said pulling me to look at him.

I looked up at him asking him not to do anything. "Love, if he said something tell me,"

"No it doesn't matter, please leave it," I said trying to walk away but was brought back by Neteyam. 

"Please," I begged because I just didn't want to speak of it.

"I'm asking you y/n tell us so we don't have to punish you for actually defending yourself," Jake said. 

"You can't punish me, you're not my parents, they're dead which Aonung gladly reminded me of," I said looking at Jake in his eyes.  "I went over to have a peaceful conversation to clear the air but he insulted me instead.  It's not my fault I could tell he was a hot head and was ready to hit."

"He did what," Neteyam spoke loudly, "I swear-"

"You'll do nothing, she handled herself," Neytiri said nodding her head.

"What else did he say to you" Neteyam asked pulling me to look towards him again.

"Neteyam seriously stop," I said looking at him, "I took care of it"

"Yeah we all saw that but we care about you" Jake said trying to get me to spill. 

I looked at everyone with a sad expression.  God why can't they just drop it.  I was getting angry too.

"Fine, he called me a freak of nature," I said putting up one finger, "a mistake Eywa made," I said holding up a second finger looking at Neteyam, "you're really gonna like this one," I said nodding at him, "that I should be dead instead of here"

I finished looking at everyone.  Jake and Neytiri had looks that they understood where I was coming from now.  And Neteyam looked pissed looking into the crowd for probably Aonung.

"Like I Said It doesn't matter," I told them hopping they'd finally get off my back.

"Okay well I-" Jake said walking away not sure of what to do.

Neytiri gave him a look basically asking what was wrong with him.  She looked back to me, "those aren't true, you're not a freak and you're supposed to be here" she said placing her hand on my shoulder.

I looked at her with a single tear falling out of my eye. "I know," I told her. 

Neteyam still looked pissed looking for him, I spoke up, "he's at his hut or just away from here you won't find him," I said putting my hand on his arm.

Neteyam looked at me and wiped the tear off my cheek, "you don't listen to him, if he says anything to you again I want you to tell me" he said looking deeply into my eyes.

I slightly nodded my head, "he's not wrong about me being a freak, I literally came back from the dead and have weird characteristics" I said looking at my arms.

"Hey, don't listen to him," Neteyam said pulling my face to his, "you're beautiful and everything about you is perfect, you are here for a reason and Eywa doesn't make mistakes," he told me looking between both my eyes.

"He also called me stupid and pathetic, but who's really the pathetic one out of me and him," I said trying to seem better. 

"Sweet child, you know we've been at this whole Navi thing a while and we can read your body language" neytiri said "you don't need to hide how you feel"

"Yeah I'm a little angry at what he said and took it to heart but what else do you expect from someone who relived their death multiple times in flashbacks" I said shrugging my shoulders.

"I will be here for you y/n,"Neteyam said pulling me into a hug.  "You are none of the things he said, and I swear I'll-"

"Do nothing until he does something" I said nodding at him pulling away from the hug.

"I feel as though I'm supposed to protect your name and I will" he said kissing my forehead. "I couldnt protect your human body but I will protect this one" he said laying our foreheads together. "I can't apologize enough"

"You can and you have, I did it because I love you, but I still did it, you didn't do anything but make me fall for you" I said placing my hand on his face. 

The party started to settle down and people started to get some thing to eat as parents started to have their adult drinks.  Neytiri went back over to Jake who still looked like he didn't know what to do. 

"I'll be right back" I said to Neteyam.

"You're not gonna go fight my dad are you?" He asked and I rolled my eyes at him.

I walked over to Jake and bowed my head to greet him as he did the same.

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier, you're not my parents but you've taken me in as one of your own and supported me." I said while Jakes face started to look less, hurt?

"I was very frustrated with what Aonung said and wanted to keep it to myself.  I let my anger out on the wrong people and I'm sorry sir," I told him looking down.

"You don't need to be sorry, we shouldn't of pressed so hard.  We just wanted to make sure it wasnt a flashback" he said standing up and pulling me into a hug. 

Neytiri soon joined after, "we know we're not your parents, but we do love you like your our kid" she said to me.
