Chapter 7

Emilia's POV
"Y-you miss me?"

He scratching his arm. His face started to heat up.

"Aw! How cute! You're blushing!"

"Fuck you Emi."

We went back to hanging out. I was at his house when, it happened. We were walking up to the front door when we heard a popping.

"Did you hear that?"

My side started killing me. I looked down. My shirt was being ruined with blood.

"Devy?"

I grabbed his shoulder. He scanned my body then screamed. He caught me before I fell. I started hyperventilating. Sally ran up to us. She crouched down next to me. She moved hair out my face. Devin pulled me away from her.

"Don't fuckin dare."

I heard two girls scream. I looked and saw Marisol and her mom, Maya.

"Mari get inside!"

My blood was starting to get everywhere.

"Hey. Look at me."

Devin moved my face to look at him.

"I-I don't feel good."

I noticed he was starting to cry.

Dev never cries.

I heard Maya on the phone with someone. Marisol ran up to me. She grabbed my hand. She started crying. Devin started screaming at Sally. Sally was yelling back.

"D-Devin?"

I started squeezing his shoulder.

"Devin stop! Devin stop!"

My eyes started to get heavy.

"D-Devy?"

He looked at me.

"Stop. P-please."

He nodded. He stopped yelling and went back to comforting me.

"You're okay."

I cupped his face and smiled.

"I love you."

"I-I love you too!"

Sally screamed at him again. He looked at her.

"Would you just, SHUT THE FUCK UP?! You're the one who did this!"

"How do you know?"

"I know you!"

He looked back down. When the ambulance came, he didn't hesitate. He jumped into the back with me. He got yelled at and was told to sit in the passenger seat. He jumped out and ran away. My eyes got even more heavier.

"Emilia, stay with me kiddo."

"I'm so...so tired..."

My eyes shut. I felt the EMT working on me. My eyes opened again.

"Wh-what just happened?"

"You lost consciousness."

"I-I did?"

When we got to the hospital, Devin ran back up to me and grabbed my hand. I was put in an ER room. He started crying more.

"I'm sorry for everything Lia. I-I really am."

"I-it's okay. I-it's okay Dev. I'm happy, I got you back. Even if, it's for a short time. I just wanted my best friend back. I got him back."

My eyes got heavy again.

"Emi?! Em stay with me! Please! I-I'm begging you!"

It all went black.
