Devin's POV
"Can you calmly and slowly explain?"

She had a cut on her cheek.

"Did he do that?"

She nodded and looked down. I used my finger to lift her head up.

"It's okay. Breathe."

She started explaining everything. I started to get pissed.

"Did you bring a bag or anything?"

"Oh no! I forgot! I-I was home alone!"

"Your mom wasn't there?"

She shook her head.

"S-she got stuck at work."

She started crying more. I grabbed her and pulled her close to me. I started holding her.

"Do you have any pads or anything?"

"Shit!"

"Okay. It's okay. Do you want me to get them? Do you need them?"

She nodded.

"Let me get dressed. Do you have on one now? I can see if my mom has any."

She shook her head.

"I-I have one on."

I jumped up and scrambled to get ready. I grabbed my things and woke my mom up.

"Is there anywhere, I can get her everything at midnight?"

"That 24/7 store a few blocks away. Have her take some of mine if she needs some."

I ran back to my room. I grabbed Emilia's hand. We ran outside and I locked the door. We jumped into my car. She started staring at her phone. She started holding her stomach.

"You're okay. We're almost there."

We got to the store and I helped her get out of the car.

"Have you ever been here? Do you know where pads are?"

"I-I think."

We walked inside and I followed her. We got to an aisle and she relaxed a little.

"Good. They have them."

"They're on sale too. Get two."

She grabbed two packs of pads.

"Anything else? Do you want any junk food? I'll take you somewhere."

"I-I need candy and soda. I-I want junk food too."

"Alright. Let's go get soda and candy for you."

We walked over to the candy and soda aisle. She froze.

"What's wrong?"

"I-I'm a bit embarrassed."

"Why?"

I started looking around.

"There's no one here."

"Y-you're helping me buy period things again..."

"Really? I don't care. You know this."

She grabbed candy and soda and handed it all to me.

"What's wrong?"

"Come here."

I got closer to her.

"the cashier is a boy. i get embarrassed." She whispered into my ear.

After she said that, a girl walked in. The boy left. The girl was now the cashier.

"Better?"

"Kinda."

We walked to the register and I put everything down. Emilia hid behind me. I looked over my shoulder.

"You're okay. Before I pay, is there anything else?"

"Oh...I-I should get shampoo and a toothbrush."

"Okay. You can get them. I have toothpaste at my house. Are these the right pads or did you accidentally grab the wrong ones?"

She looked at the package again.

"T-these are the right ones. I-I need wings. I-I'll be back."

She ran off with her head down.

"Is she okay?"

"She's just a bit embarrassed. She doesn't like when I do this type of shopping with her."

"She shouldn't be embarrassed."

"I know."

"How long have you been together?"

"Oh shit...I think almost a year?"

"Is she "the one"?"

"I think so."

Emilia ran back up to me. She was holding a shampoo bottle and a toothbrush along with a hairbrush and a bottle of painkillers.

"Ready?"

She looked down and nodded. The cashier scanned everything then put it in a few bags. I paid then the bags were handed to me.

"You shouldn't be embarrassed. It's a natural thing."

"T-thank you."

Emilia ran out to my car.

"Thank you. Have a nice night."

"You too."

I followed Emilia out to my car. I unlocked the car and she jumped in. I put the bags in the car then got in. I brought her to her favorite fast food place. I drove back to my house after that. I unlocked the front door and she grabbed the bag of food and ran into the kitchen.

"It's okay. I'm not grossed out."

"Y-you're not?"

"No. I've been telling you this for a year now. My love go pick a drawer to keep everything in."

She hugged me.

"Thank you."

I opened her candy and put it in reusable bags. I heard her laughing. She ran up to me.

"Okay so I opened the packs right? They completely went everywhere."

I put my hand on her head. I handed her the bags full of her candy.

"Go hide these from my sister."

"Awww. The three of us always share."

"Okay. Okay. Go put them somewhere my sister can reach."

I got everything ready for us to eat. She ran up to the dining room table and sat down. We started eating.

"You know, you're always welcome here, right?"

She nodded.

"You have a key. You don't have to ask to come over."

"I don't want to bother you."

"You don't bother me. Anyway, are you gonna shower to try to relax? I know, that helps sometimes."

"Probably."

We finished eating then cleaned up.
