it's no secret that soulmates exist. children are taught about why they only see black and white from a very young age. as you start to get older, you see more people around you start to see the world in all it's rainbows and shades. the sad part is when your whole friend group gets to see those colors besides you.

though, around a year ago, you met a beautiful person. he was your pretty boy, and his name was felix. he may be your best friend now, but you swore you would tell him today. the fact that you can see every color of the rainbow when you're with him.

you were so sure he saw them, too. he had given out hints and clues and other directions towards such a conclusion. that's why, you were waiting for him at the usual picnic spot in the field.

"hello, felix!" you chimed loudly when you saw him running down the hill with a picnic basket in hand. after setting down the basket, he sat across from you on the soft blanket. "what did you bring this time?"

he looked guilty, and before you could find out why, he spoke. "brownies."

"again?" you whine. "that's okay. your brownies are 5 star quality, anyways."

"thank you very much," he acknowledged your praise with a smile. his face always got super red when you complimented him.

"he definitely feels something," you thought.

time passes. you talked about various topics and such over brownies and starbucks.

felix was like your sun. he lit up your world; literally. everything was brighter when he was around, and not just because he was your soulmate. you could drone on and on about how in love you were.

hours pass. the sun is going down. you look over to see felix happily enjoying the view. to make the moment happier, you finally say something about the colors you'd grown to love so much.

"hey felix. you see it too, right?"

"see what?"

you must've misheard him. "the colors. look at how pretty the sky is with the sunset! tell me how beautiful it is."

his face dropped, and he turned to you like he had just seen a ghost. after giving your delighted turned confused face one look over, he can't stand it and looks away.

but for your sake, he manages to turn to face you. the innocence made him want to vomit his deserts back up as he realized everything that was going on. the way you had been acting ever since you met. the gifts. those fucking flowers with their cute little notes in bright pink pen attached. this all lead felix to once again look you in your naive eyes.

"what the hell are you talking about?"
