this damn storm will be the death of you.

literally, in fact. you're coping with the tv not working when suddenly the power goes out, as you stand there with the cords in hand, now frozen in the pitch dark. instead of screaming, you shakily take out your phone and turn your flashlight on.

once the heater went out, you were toast. well, not actually, since... there's no heat to toast you with.

"fuck." you drag your feet on the ground along with the blanket you have slung around your shoulders back to your spot on your apartment's couch, getting back under the covers once more. reaching for the battery pack you had prepared on the coffee table, there's a knock on the door. great.

once again lugging yourself a few steps, you open the door with caution. instead, you see your best hope. "felix."

"hey there," he says with a smile. "how are you?"

you raise a brow and step back to let him glance into the darkened apartment. "just swell."

"soooo i see you're alone, and you don't have any power..." he trails off, hoping you'll get the memo but when you don't, he continues, "i have power, is what i'm saying."

"is this you inviting me over?" you smirk.

his eyes go wide. "yes— but you don't have to." you can tell he's nervous but relieved once you take the hint.

"i would love to," you say, hiding your smile in the dark as you find your lit up phone. once out of the apartment, he closes the door for you. "anything is better than that."

felix mirrors your wide smile as he guides you to his home, which is right next to yours. considering the amount of ice you could hear against your own windows and the heavy tree branches crashing to the ground, you're surprised his power hasn't gone out yet.

he unlocks his door and opens the door for you, which you thank him for. you think his house and it's decorations are just so cute. what's even better is the amount of plushies and blankets he has on his couch. you can only imagine having that many.

"sorry, your apartment is probably a lot cleaner than mine," he says from behind you.

"no, not at all!" you turn to face him. "i only cleaned my apartment a few days ago. before that, it was a pigsty."

he sighs, satisfied with your answer. "so, do you wanna watch tv? or we could play video games, if you'd like."

you shrug. "it's your house, i'm just living in it."

"yes, but you're also the guest, [name]." the way he speaks your name makes you feel warm, no heater needed.

"could we watch tv?" you ask shyly. "as much as i would love to play genshin, i'm really tired."

"we can do that," he speaks, smirk on his face as he sets up some pillows and blankets.

suddenly, an idea comes to mind. "wait! i just thought of something!" you jump from your spot on the couch.

this scares him, making him flinch at your enthusiasm. "what is it?"

"what if we made a fort?" you suggest with a glimmer in your eyes that felix can't resist.
