Y/n's POV

The rain poured down over all the rubble, my hair is already soaked, and I'm freezing in the heavy wind, it's dark already and Mattheo still hasn't given up his search.

With the small light from my wand, I walked over to Mattheo, who was digging through the rubble on his knees, there was mud on his face and I could tell he was determined to find it still.

"Matt?" I asked him he either ignored me or didn't hear me over the loud wind. "Mattheo?" he looked up now.

"What?"

"It's freezing, and dark, and pouring rain if you haven't noticed, Narcissa already left to make dinner, and your father also left because the dark lord needed him for something. We should go." I told him softly, sitting on my knees next to him. "I'm sorry, I don't think it's here. It's gone, Mattheo."

"No, it's not, I can't be. It has to be here." he ripped up a large piece of wood and threw it out of the way. "I have to find it."

"Matt, it's been hours, lets go back to the Malfoy Manor and wash off, warm up,"

"It can't be gone. There wasn't another one like it. Please, Y/n, just one more hour." seeing him so desperate to find the ring motivated me more, made me also desperate to find it.

"Alright, let's do it." I put my hair up quickly and moved my freezing fingers around, trying to bring circulation back to them. I walked around everywhere, still trying the summoning charm in different places.

Each time I did I saw a little movement in the corner of my eye, it's just my imagination though.

"Fuck!" I heard Matt yell in pain and I whipped around in alarm and made my way as quick as I could over to him.

"What happened?" I asked, I shone the light from my wand onto him and saw that the palm of his hand was bleeding at a rapid pace and dripped onto the ground. There was a shard of glass stuck in his hand. "Oh shit,"

I knelt down and Mattheo shakily tried to pull the glass out but it hurt him too bad to.

"Let me," I grabbed his hand and he shut his eyes tightly as I gently pulled the glass out, it was in pretty deep.

"Ahh," he winced a little, and the blood kept flowing.

"Do you want to go?"

"No, you said we could search for another hour."

"Alright." out of my bag I pulled out a white shirt that I packed, I ripped a piece off it and wrapped his hand with it, tying it tightly to stop the blood flow. Leo taught me that pressure would help to stop bleeding.

"Thank you," he moved his wrist around. "Let's keep searching." I wished that I could be more like my brother, he's so determined to find this ring, not giving up even after losing blood.

I stood up and tried the summoning charm once more, this time, I saw the movement again right in front of me. I knew I wasn't imagining it now.

I walked over to where I saw the movement, there was a heavy looking stone on the ground that moved. I knelt down and tried to move it, but it didn't budge.

"Hey, Matt!" I called, "I might have found something over here!"

Matt came over and saw the large stone.

"I used the summoning charm multiple times, every time I used it I saw this stone move, the ring might be under there. But I can't move it myself." I explained,

"Here, let's do it together." he bent down and together we dug our fingers underneath the stone and pulled with all our strength. It moved and we rolled it out of the way. I didn't see anything underneath it, but Mattheo did. "No way!" He got on the ground and moved some small black rubbish out of the way, underneath the black was an unharmed shining silver ring with an astonishingly beautiful diamond on it.
