Y/n's POV
Dad,
I miss you as well, but I can assure you that I am safe. I promise.I write to my father the lies I've been reassuring him with for a while.
I can't be sure when I'll see you again, but it won't be too long. Kayden is okay as well, I don't know why he hasn't been writing, I guess he's just stressed out, but he seems fine. Not much has gone on, but it's nice to be free from school.
Mattheo's good, as well as Max and the others. We don't see much of our mother, but I kind of prefer it that way.
There's not much else to say, I really do miss you and would much rather be over in Florida than here -by the way, you just so happen to be my favorite parent- but unfortunately I can't be there.
I love you and hope to see you again soon,
Love Y/nI seal the letter in a yellowish colored envelope and hand it to my owl.
"You think you can fly to Florida?" I ask him, he snaps his beak as if to say no, "Dad will take plenty care of you while you recover."
Finally, my owl agreed and I tied the letter to his foot and open the window for him. He flies away into the darkening sky and I shut the window once again.
I take a seat on my bed and heave a sigh. I hate lying to my father but it's for his own good.
Narcissa, Max, and Mattheo aren't yet back from the hospital. It's late now and I'm getting worried. I crack my knuckles and bite my nails in anxiety for the three to get back already.
"You know, biting your nails is bad." I look over and see Kayden standing in the doorframe of my room. I haven't seen Kayden since last night; he hasn't left his room all day.
"So is ignoring dad's letters." I tell him, in the letter I've just received from our father, he told me that Kayden is ignoring all the letters he sends.
Kayden sighs and walks over to the bed I'm sitting on. I notice dark purple circles under his eyes behind his glasses, he's wearing black sweatpants and a black tee shirt, both wrinkled and it seems he's just rolled out of bed for the first time today.
"I can't answer any of his questions without lying. And I can't lie to him." He explains.
"Well at least tell him that you miss him as well, and that you hope to see him soon, and that you're alright-"
"I'm not alright." He mumbles,
"What?"
"I'm not alright." He repeats, looking straight into my eyes now. "I don't think I'll ever be the same again after last night. We watched Dumbledore die, you were bleeding to death and acting like nothing was wrong, then our mother hit you and tried to take you away, most likely to hit you again, then the four of you were...punished, you bloody passed out, Max is in the hospital and we can only hope that our future niece is okay...this is all just last night. Imagine the rest of our lives like this..."
"I know, it's all horrible. All this death eater shit that we never signed up for being pushed and forced upon us, it's all bull shit. And our mother is kind of insane, the times she's beat me-"
"'The times'? There's been more times that's happened?" He questions. Shit. I never told him.
"Do you remember when I was bleeding out all over from my head? And I was all bruised and bloody all over? I passed out and had to see Madame Pomfrey the next day? Yeah, that was all because of our mother." Kayden's lips parted and his eyes widen, but he didn't say anything. "My worst and biggest scar isn't even from being a death eater...it's from being our mothers daughter."
