Y/n's POV
I thought that I would feel a lot better after talking with Newt, but after I left his office I felt worse then when I entered. It felt worse because talking about everything finalized that it's real, I don't blame him for not making me feel better, it's not his fault, it's my own.
It's been a few days since the talk with Newt, right now I'm in the library looking for a book.
Kayden suggested that I should try to read like I used to, he thinks it might help doing something that makes me happy, so I'm here against my will looking for a book to read.
I used to love being in here, but now it just reminds me of the past few years, which leads to Draco, which spirals me right back into the empty hell called depression.
I browsed in the fantasy section, hoping that I could find something interesting to read that I've never read before. But all of them I've either already read or were romance, and I don't think I can handle a romance novel right now, it will just remind me of my situation and make things worse.
I sensed somebody enter the same section as me, I kept my eyes forward. I hate when this happens because then the git who decides to enter the same section as me tries to make conversation and become friends. I hate it.
I continued keeping my gaze on the books in front of me, but finally one actually interested me. I began to reach my pale hand toward it, but before I grabbed the book another hand, bigger and darker than mine, reached and put away a different book right next to it.
It was Theo.
"Oh, hey," I sighed, glad it wasn't a student I don't know.
"Hey," he smiled and fully slid the book back into place.
"Are you still doing volunteer work in here?"
"Yeah, I actually really like it."
"That's nice," I said and took the book I was gonna grab from the shelf. I noticed that Theo was standing next to a cart of books, books he was probably working on putting away. We began to walk together, I stayed with him and helped him as we made it around the library and put away the books.
"Are you coming to the party tonight? Everyone will be there." he asked me as I reached up to put away a thick old looking book.
"What party?"
"It's a seventh years birthday and there's gonna be like a huge party in the common room."
"I don't know, probably not."
"There will be drinks," He pointed out. "Not that I'm like trying to get you drunk or anything-"
"Alright I'll go." he smiled again and his eyes lit up.
"Brilliant." I kind of feel as if I've been annoying these three, Leo, Blaise and Theo, for the past couple weeks, like I've been tagging along with them but they're too polite to tell me to fuck off, I wish they would though, because then at least I would know if I'm annoying them or not.
"Theo, please don't feel obliged to hang out with me."
"What do you mean? We really like hanging out with you."
"Really?"
"Yeah, did you think we didn't?"
"I don't know, I just didn't want to be annoying you guys."
"Of course not," He chuckled and slid a book into place next to the rows of other ones. I smiled and we continued walking, as we turned a corner my skirt got caught on a nail sticking out of the edge of the shelf, making it ride up exposing far too much of my upper thigh.
