After adding a quick pit stop at my house so that I could get dressed properly, me and Jude headed to the training ground.
The closer we came, the more nervous I got. The whole damn team would be there, some of them players i had watched play since I was just a kid.
I hadn't noticed my leg bobbing up and down until I felt Jude's hand pin it down gently, his thumb swiping across the fabric of my cargos to calm me.
"Nothing to be nervous about, they're gonna tease the shit out of me but they'll be nice to you, believe me." He stated, pulling into the driveway that lead to a gate which opened shortly after, probably recognizing the license plate of his car.
"That's not making it better." I complained, having the urge to sink down in my seat to hide from the staff we were passing already.
"You wanted to come, now you're gonna have to take the piss for it." He joked, clearly amused by my situation which made me smack his arm in annoyance.
He put the car in park and turned to look at me expectantly. I sighed but signaled him that I was ready, causing him to leave the car first with me following behind. I walked to the trunk where he was retrieving his duffel bag before we started making our way into the building.
Jude greeted the few staff members we passed on our way, them curiously eyeing me when they saw me at his side.
We reached what I assumed were the locker rooms, making him come to a halt.
"You can wait for me at the stands, yeah?" He proposed and I nodded confidently. How hard could it be? You could literally see the field through the glass door at the end of the hallway.
He pecked my lips before disappearing behind the door to the locker room. I looked around, nobody was here yet since we've got here a little earlier to avoid me feeling overwhelmed.
I approached the door at the end of the hallway that i had mentioned earlier, stepping into the freshness of the March air. The stands were on the right side of the field, at least from my view right now so I made my way over there and sat down a little hesitantly.
I hoped I wouldn't be thrown out by security judging by the way how much I wasn't fitting in. There were only a few staff members on the filed setting up some stuff for training I guess, which would approximately start in twenty minutes. They hadn't noticed me though, or they just didn't care.
I don't know how long it took for Jude to finally join me outside, but when he did I felt much more comfortable again. Not so out of place.
He was in his training kit now, cleats in his gloved hands as he was only wearing some slippers right now.
"The locker room is pure madness." He stated as he was climbing up to where I was sitting.
"Why?" I asked curiously, zipping my track jacket all the way up since it had become a little windy.
"No reason, they're just a little energetic today," He shrugged, "maybe because of the win Saturday."
"Yeah, y'all were great." I agreed, hiding my hands in my pockets to shield them from the cold. His ears perked up at that, his head raising from his bent position since he had started putting on his cleats.
"You watched it?" He asked, voice a little surprised.
"Of course I watched it." I replied softly before patting his back, "hurry before they see you with me." I joked, considering that the first few of his teammates had just left the building and made their way over to the field.
"Let them see." He shrugged, finishing tying up his other cleat before pressing a quick kiss to my cheek and hurrying back to the pitch.
I smiled after him, watching as he jogged up to the team. They immediately started messing with each other, Jude receiving a few playful shoves before he settled next to Gio Reyna.
