Friday, 3rd of April

"I don't like him." Jude muttered as he intertwined his fingers with mine to bring me closer to him. It was another cold night in Dortmund, the spring being as late as ever this year which is why I hugged my leather bomber jacket closer to my body to shield me from the breeze.

We had decided to show up to the restaurant me and Emma had agreed to meet at by foot. We did take the metro partly, but still. We thought it'd be better to stay on the low, and pulling up to Emma's so called 'double date' (which it hadn't been, by the way) in a expensive sports car wasn't really like that.

I had even been surprised that Jude would agree on meeting with her and Finn in the first place, but he said that he'd do it for Emma since I've told him how enthusiastic she had been about this.

Very thoughtful of him, but I wish he would of said no, because it would've saved us the awkwardness and second hand embarrassment we both had felt the whole evening.

"Me neither. I wanted to give him a chance, I really did, but I should've known that he is an asshole knowing who his ex is." I replied in just the same distraught tone.

"His whole...performance was mad." Jude struggled to find the right words, his British accent noticeably stronger when he seemed to be pissed about something.

"I'm glad that you didn't act like that when we first started talking." I said, trying to take both of our minds off the disaster that had been tonight.

I heard him chuckle, his hand discarding mine to sling his arm around my shoulders instead and causing the side of my body to collide with his. The impact slightly made us stumble a few steps before returning to our normal pace. His familiar warmth immediately welcomed me and paired with him kissing my hair, it spread through my whole body.

We got on the next train home, which would be an about twenty minute ride since we were currently in the exact opposite part of the city to the one where Jude lived.

We sat down at the very back of it, similar to where we had been sitting when we had met on the same line back in January.

I smiled to myself at the memory and looked over at Jude who was busy staring out of the window. I never really understood why he had taken the metro that day since he already had his car back then, but I didn't want to think too much about it either since I was glad that he had, so it didn't really matter. Otherwise, we probably would've never met.

I rested my head on his shoulder, the softness of his puffer jacket causing my eyes to slowly close as I involuntary looked back on the events from earlier this night.

"Yeah, I'm gonna inherit my dad's company. He said out of me and my two sisters I was the most capable of the responsibility." Finn randomly threw in, interrupting Emma who had been talking about how excited she was to finally see her dad again in less than a week.

It was quiet for a second, neither of us really understanding what the intention behind sharing that sentence had been, before I awkwardly cleared my throat.

"Oh, that's, uh, nice... of him." I commented, forcing a small smile while Jude quietly giggled into his fist shielding his mouth before recollecting himself after I nudged his leg with mine under the table.

"Mhm-hm. It's pretty cool actually. They specialize in mechanical engineering, but I think there are a couple of IT-vacancies as well." He went on and turned to look at Emma, "Maybe that'd be something for you? I could let my connections play to get you a job."

Jude made a weird sound from suppressing his laughter. I halted in my movements, the fork with my next bite now stilling in the air in front of me. Emma side eyed Finn; I swear there had to be a camera hidden somewhere seen as how ridiculous this was.
