Jude's pov

"When did you get this done?" I asked, letting my thumb trail across the small, almost unnoticeable alignment of stars tattooed on Tiana's hip. It was a question I had been meaning to ask for a while now, ever since I first had gotten the chance to notice it.

She didn't even need to look at what I meant, as she was currently way too occupied with letting her pointer finger write or draw stuff on my torso.

"I didn't." She mumbled, "Emma did it."

I let out a sound of realization, before interrogating her further. "What do they mean?"

"They're the stars that form her star sign." She explained softly, her hand now laying flat on my chest and underneath her chin.

I looked back at the (seemingly) stick and poke tattoo, now also recognizing the familiar star formation.

"Scorpio?"

"Mhm." She nodded, "what do you think, do you want to do a Cancer one on my other hip?"

"I'd fuck it up." I chuckled, making her join me.

"What about you? Ever thought about getting a tattoo?" She asked then, turning in my arm so that she was no laying on her stomach, with her hands under her chin to prop herself up on my chest; her eyes holding a intrigued look.

"Yes." I answered truthfully, "but I don't want one."

"Why?" She furrowed her brows, but not in a accusing manner.

"Because after you get one, you can't donate blood for four months." I explained, avoiding her eyes because I thought that she'd maybe find my reasoning a little extreme.

But to me, it wasn't like that. I genuinely didn't want to waive on being able to donate blood at any time.

"Oh." She said, making me look at her again. Her face held a warm smile, "I like that."

"Do you donate regularly?" She further interrogated, tilting her head sideways so that some of her dark brown hair spread across my torso.

"Whenever I can." I nodded.

"Is there a reason you're doing it? I mean, not that there has to be one, the fact that you're doing it matters regardless of course." She asked, her small rant making me smile to myself.

The smile dropped as soon as I recalled the reason why I was and had been donating blood for so long, though.

Tiana noticed my mood change of course, her expression growing a little more serious or even worried.

"You don't have to tell me, that's okay." She whispered when I still hadn't said anything a minute later; my mind being flooded with a thousand memories and thoughts at once making me look up at the ceiling of my dimly lit hotel room.

I cleared my throat to loosen the tension she was also trying to get rid of by caressing my hair at the nape of my neck.

"When I was fifteen, a friend I stood really close to since childhood died of blood cancer." I eventually spoke up, breaking the silence.
