Tiana's pov

I woke up the next morning after I had rolled to the side, hoping to collide with Jude's body; but I sadly had to realize that he wasn't there.

I soon could make out the faint noise of water running, indicating that he was in the shower.

I knew that he had to head to breakfast soon, and then had practice, so instead of lounging around in the bed for another thirty minutes I actually got up to get ready to leave for my hotel as well.

There was no point of me staying for breakfast, I didn't want to be all annoying and let them feed me through the day. The fact that I got to eat dinner with them the other day was probably more than anyone could've expected already, since it hadn't been for outstanding people like me.

Besides, I wasn't allowed to practice either. They were briefing some stuff for upcoming games today, and no one of the public was permitted, which included me.

But since it was kind of a rest day for the team, they only had that briefing and then had some free time for the rest of the day, which Jude and me had already planned on how we'd spend it with some of the other guys.

Getting ready luckily didn't take too long, because I was only planning on sneaking out without having people see me. Hence, I didn't really try.

I only brushed my teeth with a spare toothbrush of the hotel and roughly did my skincare with some of Jude's stuff. I'd rather take a shower at my room, so I just put on my jeans from yesterday and one of his hoodies since I obviously didn't bring any spare clothes.

I sadly had to promise I'd give him his hoodie back though, because he had started complaining that he only brought so many.

We took the elevator into the lobby, where we sat into one of the seating areas to wait for the taxi I had ordered to pick me up.

I had my legs kicked up onto his as I took up at least eighty percent of the couch, whereas he was seated at the end across from me, scrolling on his phone.

We were both too tired to talk, so we just sat in a comfortable silence.

But unfortunately or us that silence soon got disrupted, by none other than my favorite physiotherapist. I had literally almost jumped at the sound of her voice since I too had been focused on my phone and therefore hadn't noticed her approaching.

"I wanted to return your charger." She smiled that smile of hers again, the one that made you want to reach out and slap it from her face.

What made it worse was that she was acting like I wasn't there. I didn't even want to talk to her, but I hadn't yet given her a reason not to. I had been nice, fake but nice.

"Thanks." Jude took it from her and stuffed it in the pocket of his sweats, before resting his arms on my legs. "Something else?"

She still stood there, hence the question. He didn't say it in a mean way though, he was too sweet for that. It more likely sounded curious.

"Yeah, I was gonna talk to you about our next physio session, but I don't know if I can cause... you know."
My ears perked up again, and I looked up from my screen to see her eyeing me for some unknown reason.

I furrowed my brows at her; she was really starting to genuinely annoy me. Usually it took a while before i developed a disliking towards people, but she was making it pretty easy for me.

I couldn't tell if she didn't get that Jude and I were together, or if she knew and just chose to not acknowledge it.

Either way, she was constantly dickriding him — which not only bothered me, but made me feel second hand embarrassment as well.

"What?" Jude furrowed his brows in confusion, "what's that gotta do with Tia?"

"Okay, nevermind." She sighed, finally dropping whatever act she had tried to hold upright before finally hurrying off.

Wednesday, 23rd of November

"Come on, we'll be late." Khai dragged me out of the room and into the elevator. I side eyed her in the mirror while reapplying my lipgloss before we reached the lobby and continued getting into a taxi that would take us to the stadium.

Khai and me went to see the Germany against Japan game today. I was friends with some of the players, mostly through Jude, but that luckily didn't define the friendship at all.

Khai obviously also went for Karim, who sadly wasn't in the starting lineup — but would be cheered for from us nontheless.

From our seats we had the most beautiful view over the pitch and the crowd, which consisted out of either blue or white jerseys.

I wore a jersey myself, one i had bought before flying here. There wasn't anyone in particular on the back though — there would only ever be one name that belonged there.

The sky was cloudless, and i had to put on a pair of sunglasses. Glancing around me, everything felt so surreal.

Less than a week ago, i was in school, taking my last exams before being flown out here. By my super hot football boyfriend. To watch him play at a world cup. In Qatar.

I honestly couldn't be more lucky. I wasn't exactly proud of how i got here, since i literally didn't do anything for it; but i was more than grateful that he let me experience this with him.

Speaking of — it had only almost two days passed since i've last seen Jude, and i already missed him. Don't get me wrong, it felt great spending time with my friends and supporting my home country, but i still wished he was here.

I was worried that all that having stayed away from each other for so long caused me to develop a serious separation anxiety.

I had to grin at my dramatic self diagnosis, and just as i did, a incoming message popped up on my phone screen.
