Chapter 57: Rivalry Prelude

Sometime later, Briar and the others are able to reach the Purple Stage for the SDC. Of course, with Vil, Rook, and Epel's help, Briar is able to fit into her costume and her makeup has been done in the dressing rooms.

Meanwhile, Grim and the others are watching the crew at work.

Amazed, Grim says, "Wow, they were workin' hard on this stage the last time we came by, and now it's totally finished."

"I know. Look at all the press," Tanzanite says.

Sereia grows nervous, "All these cameras are making me nervous."

"You don't need to worry too much because you're not the one performing," Jasper says.

Just then, a Film Crew member walks over to them and says, "Hey, you guys! SDC rehearsals are starting soon."

"This place is off-limits to the general public. Out you go," The second crew member says.

But soon, Vil comes along and says, "Excuse me. That spudling and beast are part of our production team. Can't you see their staff passes?"

The first film crew member quickly says, "V-Vil Schoenheit?! Pardon me."

And rush off to continue their work.

"Sorry we were almost late," Sereia says.

"As long as you all arrived before the rehearsal. However, it's bold that you all show up last," Vil says.

Then Rook asks, "Did you take in the sights and sounds of the festival?"

"You guys oughta see the line of people outside the coliseum waitin' for same-day tickets. It's nuts!" Grim says.

"There sure are a lot of people coming here today," Jasper says.

Then Kalim and the others walk over.

Kalim smiles and asks, "Really? Well, it's nice to know people are excited."

"There's a lot of reporters and cameras as well. We can chalk that up to Vil and Neige, I'm sure," Jamil says.

Grim then says, "Oh yeah. Ace, Deuce, Epel... Riddle and Jack both said if you guys screw this up, you're really gonna be in for it!"

"Grim, don't say it like that," Tanzania says.

Deuce flinches, "Erk... Please, I don't need any more pressure."

"N-now I'm getting nervous..." Epel adds.

And Ace says, "We've got three hours from now until the show. There's no sense in tensing up now."

"Agreed." Vil says, "Our rehearsal time is there to ensure we don't make any mistakes at showtime. SDC tradition dictates that the host school's team performs first. Let's make our act so hard to follow that everyone who comes after us looks like moldy tubers in comparison.

Everyone cheers, "Yeah!"

"By the way, where's Briar?" Kalim asks.

"Um right here," Briar says and walks over.

Everyone turns their heads, Excluding, Epel, Rook, and Vil, everyone else is awestruck to see Briar's new appearance. Briar is now a teal and dark teal long sleeve dress. Her hair is a little wavy and looks like it's sparkling. She is also wearing a little makeup and blush. She is als wearing icy blue short heel shoes. On the top of her head is a tiara that looks like it has rhinestones that are shaped to look like snowflakes.

"Wow. You look..." Ace says, shocked.

Deuce actually begins to blush, "You look very nice.

"You're beautiful!" Sereia says.
