Chapter 70: The Audience Reaction

Meanwhile, at the Coliseum stands, the audience continues to cheer with excitement for the performance. There are the Harthslabyul students, including Riddle, Catter, and Trey.

Cater happily cheers, "Aceyyy! Deuceyyy! They KILLED it up there!"

"I was ready to have both their heads if they made a poor show of it... But that was a splendid performance. It did Night Raven College justice," Riddle replies.

Trey shakes his head with a smile, "Good grief, I was tense just watching that. My palms are all sweaty."

"C'mon, Trey. You sound like a PTA mom!" Cater happily says.

"Our dorm's problem pair has carried out their duty. I'll make them some tea once they return to the dorm. It's the least I can do," Riddle says.

Then Cater says, "Still, Briar did amazing. She is almost like an ice princess."

"Indeed she is. She really came a long way since she entered the school," Riddle says.

"I agree," Trey says.

At another part of the stands, there are Azul, Jade, and Floyd.

Azul happily says, "I have to hand it to Vil. He delivers, and his quality exceeds all expectations. They'd draw enough of a crowd to fill this place even if the NRC Tribe was the only act here.

"Daaang! That school of betta fish has got some moves! Now I wanna dance," Floyd says with a smile.

"I'm curious, Floyd. I know you love dancing and singing. Why didn't you audition for the SDC?" Jade asks.

"Seriously. If you'd made the cut to be a member, I could have had a say in how the group was managed," Azul says.

"What can I say? I wasn't in the mood at the time," Floyd answers.

Then happily says, "But Crabby and Sea Snake looked like they were havin' a good time. Even the Little Shrimp did a good job with her performance. Maybe I should audition next year."

Jade chuckles, "Heh heh. That should be quite a sight. Not that there's any guarantee your mood will be better next time around, I suppose. Oh, by the way, Floyd. I thought you were on drink-vending duty right now? You're not carrying your drink cooler.

"Hm?" Floyd questions, and turns to Jade, "Oh, I got tired of hawking, so I left it by the entrance with a sign sayin' "Free drinks". Ahah!"

Azul doesn't like the response and scolds Floyd, "What?! Are you out of your mind?! Go get it! Right now!"

"Maaan, I don't wanna. The Floyd Café is closed for business today," Floyd complains.

"Well, now. That's a bit of a pickle," Jade replies.

Azul sighs, "What am I going to do with you? I'm taking the cost of those drinks out of your pay, just so you know."

Close to the purple stage are the Savanaclaw students, Jack, Ruggie, and Leona.

"Vil's stage presence was incredible, but the freshmen held their own up there. They're not half-bad!" Jack comments.

Ruggie sighs, "Whew. I was scared outta my wits when all the lighting-related program data vanished after rehearsals... Thank goodness we got it restored in time."

"I set it up to automatically save data to the cloud, and it paid off big time," Leona says, "We were this close to dealin' with some giant hissy-fit from Vil otherwise. It's ostensibly a culture fair event, but there's a lotta commercial interests tied up in the SDC. Then again, knowing the headmage, he's probably got it insured somehow..."

"I'm not exactly some computer whiz, but I'm still confused about what happened. The equipment wasn't busted or anything," Ruggie says. "How did the data get wiped without anything else affected? What could cause that?"

"Aside from Leona, most of the sports club guys are pretty bad with tech. We could always bring the equipment over to Ignihyde later and ask them to investigate it," Jack says.

"Maybe it went over you chumps' heads, but there were traces of a massive spell cast over the whole arena. If I were to guess..." Leona says.

"...Well? Don't keep us hanging," Ruggie says.

But Leona says, "Meh, never mind. We've got enough work to do today as it is without addin' more to the pile. The SDC is up and running. That's good enough for me. There's no relaxing for us until this place is closed again.

"Yes, sir!" Jack and Ruggie reply.

At another part of the stands are the Diasomnia students. Among them are Mallues, Lilia, Sebek, and Silver.

Seeing the performance, Malleus calmly smiles and says, "Heh. That was somewhat entertaining. Worth fixing up the stage to see it, I'd say. Especially when being able to see Briar perform gracefully, and being able to use ice and snow magic on stage is elegant," Malleus says.

"What's this, Malleus? You seem even more engaged than you were at my live show," Lilia asks.

"Have you taken leave of your senses?!" Sebek questions as he shouts, "Lilia, your performance clearly had more of an element of surprise that left the audience wowed! Why, your singing was like the voice of a vengeful spirit risen from the grave! It had me trembling!"

"Lower your voice, Sebek. The next team's performance is starting," Silver says.

Then Malleus says, "We were given a generous invitation here. Let us enjoy the entire show."

Back at the stage, the host announces, "Next up: The Royal Sword Academy entrants!"

At the Royal Sword Academy students.

Che'nya says, "Ooh, Neige and the boys are up! Mew can do iiit!"

Soon, Neige and his Seven Dwarf friends come on the stage

Neige happily smiles and waves, "Hello, everybody!"

"Hellooo!" All Seven Dwarves happily call out.

The crowd goes wild.

One of them screams, "Eeeee! It's Neige!"

Another gasps in amazement, "Who are those tiny kids?! They're adorable!"

The audience cheers in excitement.

Then Neige happily says, "Come on, everyone! Let's sing!"

Neige and his friends walk on the stage and the music starts. Soon, Neige and the Seven Dwarfs begin to sing and dance to their performance.

Neige and the Seven Dwarfs continue their performance with smiles on their faces, which has the audience smiling as well.
