Y/n stepped into the Slytherin common room, needing just a moment to collect her thoughts away from all of the hubbub of the Gryffindor party. She pressed her shoulders against the wall with a sigh and closed her eyes for a moment.

When she opened them, Blaise stood before her like a fairy godmother who is summoned when they sense some kind of distress.

"Hey, are you okay?" Blaise asked, placing a hand on her shoulder, with a concerned look on his face. Blaise was a year younger than her, but still a good friend of hers.

"No. Fred kissed me at the party."

Blaise raised an eyebrow. "As in, Fred, your boyfriend's twin brother?"

Blaise's voice had raised an octave at his statement.

"No, Fred as in Freddie Mercury." Y/n muttered sarcastically.

"We both know I stand a better chance with him than you. No offense." Blaise grinned.

Y/n couldn't help but smile at his joke.

"But seriously, what happened? Tell me everything."

Blaise led her over to the couch.

She plopped down beside him.

"I didn't want to go to that damn party. But George said it was important to him that he gets to hang out with me and his friends at the same time. So I went, like the dutiful girlfriend that I am." Y/n said. Blaise nodded along. "And I really didn't want to be there. And I kind of got the impression that George just wanted to parade me around, because he left me with his friends and went to greet everyone else at the party. And then he made the suggestion that we play truth or dare. The game was lighthearted, until George dared Fred to kiss the prettiest girl in the room."

"Oh. And I'm assuming George didn't know about the-"

"Of course, George didn't know that his brother asked me out!"

Blaise was silent for a moment before he spoke. "So...what now?"

"I need to break up with George."

"Why?" Blaise asked.

"I need to decide what I want first before I can date anyone. So...I need to break up with George to clear my head."

"Harsh. Okay, how are you going to do it?"

Y/n was silent for a moment. "I actually don't know. Any suggestions?"

Blaise seemed to think. "Start by explaining why you are breaking up with him. But don't do the "it's not you, it's me" thing. He'll probably flip his shit. And take a moment to tell him that there isn't anyone else, and that you just need time right now."

"Okay." Y/n nodded, the gears turning in her head.

"Practice on me." Blaise said, putting a red pillow on his head. Y/n snickered.

"Okay. George, I need to break up with you."

"What? Why?" Blaise asked, lowering his voice and puffing out his chest. Y/n was trying very hard not to laugh.
