Requested by: Lol I don't know, all of you wanted this one
Summery: Y/n finds out she is Sirius Black's daughter, and now Harry's godsister. Harry consults Hermione, who tells him to tell Y/n how he feels and see what her reaction is.
Y/n's P.O.V.
I woke up early, so I could go owl the message to my father. I like saying that. Father. Dad. I have a dad. Who actually wants me, and wants to get to know me.
I wrapped myself in my school robes, clutching the letter to my chest. I want to send the perfect owl.
And there, Harry stood, a few feet away from me, in the Owlery.
"Good morning Harry," I greet, with a broad smile. Harry doesn't seem to share in my enthusiasm, which puts a slight dampener on my mood.
I spot Hedgewig nestled into Harry's cloak, and his eyes follow mine.
"You can loan her if you want," Harry says with a small smile, and I grin.
"Thank you so much Harry!" I say, and give him a quick hug. He smells nicer than usual.
I attach the letter to Hedgewig's leg, and she takes off, carrying the letter to my father.
Harry and I start walking back to the castle, and the air is awkward around us.
"So..." I muse, trying to break the awkward.
"So..." Harry says back, and I blurt out my reply before I even think.
"Are we cool, or are you mad or upset about something that I did, cause it feels like you are."
Third Person P.O.V.
Harry stops in his tracks, not seeming to know what to say.
"N-no, I'm not mad at you, or upset with you," Harry says. Y/n didn't trust his reply, as he hesitated and stuttered before answering.
"If I did something, please tell me, so I can fix it, I don't want us to be awkward," Y/n says, and Harry smiles.
"We're not awkward, I'm just trying to process. We're kind of brother and sister now, you know?" Harry said with a wry smile. The thought hadn't crossed Y/n's mind.
"We don't share DNA...so I don't think we're technically siblings," Y/n says, sounding unsure herself.
On the bright side, Harry knew how she thought about it, kind of.
After breakfast, Harry had found himself seated in the library, waiting for Hermione. He needed some guidance, as he was unsure of what to do now.
Hermione takes a seat opposite Harry. "Thank god Hermione, I need your help," Harry says, sounding desperate. Hermione raises an eyebrow. "Go on."
"Okay, so you know how I like Y/n, right?"
"Yeah? What's that got to do with anything?"
"Well," Harry said, "she's my godsister now."
"And?"
"What do you mean and? Isn't it weird?" Harry asked, lowering his voice.
Hermione sighs. "Harry, no one would find it weird. You're not related by blood. I think you're the only one who thinks it's weird."
Harry sat back in his seat, digesting Hermione's words.
"So what should I do?"
"Talk to Y/n. Ask her out, see what she says. It won't kill you," Hermione says, picking up her book and reading, signaling that that was the end of the conversation about Harry's love life.
Harry was deep in thought, when Hermione spoke up. "Unless you're here to help me study or work, I suggest contemplating your life decisions in a more suitable environment," Hermione says, and Harry blinks himself out of his trance. He had, in all due honesty, planned his whole life with Y/n out in his head, the good, the bad, the ugly in that moment. And he liked what he saw.
Harry gets to his feet, and thanks Hermione.
Harry's had some thinking to do. Like why he felt awkward about liking Y/n.
