I enter the library. I decided to skip lunch, because I'm not hungry.
I sit down by a table and pull out my DADA homework. I start working on my essay when the door opens. I look up. Tom Riddle swaggers into the library and glances at me, and keeps walking. I shrug it off and keep writing.

I hear a crash from somewhere in the library. I look up, to see that Tom had walked into a shelf, knocking books over. I roll my eyes and walk over to help him pick them up. I may be in Slytherin, but that doesn't excuse me to be a bitch.

Tom picks up books, completely avoiding eye contact. I reach for the last book and he reaches for it at the same time. Our hands touch slightly, and he looks up. I feel his brown eyes stare at the top of my head. I grab the book and get up. I hand it to him with a smile. He gives me a small smile back, and I walk back over to my seat.

I've been running into him all over the castle recently. He'd sit near me in the Great Hall, in classes, in the common room, or walk by when I'm somewhere. It's kind of odd.

I head to class once my work is done. Tom Riddle, yet again, just at the edge of my vision. An ever present presence, pretending that he's not near.

After my last classes for the day, I decide to head to the Black Lake. That's where I go to think. Or plot my word domination.

I take a seat by my tree. I named my tree Marty. Marty has been a constant friend. Always there for me to lean on. Literally.

I sit in Marty's shade, reading a book, when I hear feet on the grass. I look up to see Tom Riddle approaching. This guy is stalking me. I look back at my book. When I look up again he's standing by my tree, leaning against it.

"Um, can I help you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe," Tom says, walking to the edge of the lake and picking up some stones. He starts throwing them, and they skip over the top of the water.

"And that would be?" I asked, trying to get some answers so I could go back to reading.

"How are you Y/n, really?" He asked, throwing another rock.

Um, why would he care? He doesn't even talk to me.

"I'm good, and how are you?" I ask, being polite.

"I'm horrible," he says in a matter of fact tone.

"And why is that?" I ask, putting my book mark back in my book.

Tom grimaces and turns to me. "I seem to have a dilemma. I seem to find you alluring," he says with a frown.

I laugh out loud. He looks at me confused. "Oh god, you're not joking are you?" I ask.

"I wish I was. It's annoying really," he says, skimming more rocks.

"Then stop," I say a matter of factly.

"Don't you see? I can't," he says sadly.

"Oh, so you enjoy it then?" I ask with a laugh.

"What? Do you think I enjoy this torture? This stupid infatuation of mine? This horrible need to know if your okay all the time? To realize that you can hurt me in a way that no one has ever been capable of doing? No. I loathe it," Tom says bitterly.

"Well, if it's such a nuisance to you stop. It's not doing either of us any favors," I say blandly. For a second I thought Tom Riddle might have a heart after all.

"Don't you see? I can't. I've tried everything. Potions, spells, you name it. That's what's killing me. That and the fact that you have this power over me that I don't want you to have over me. It's infuriating!" Tom hissed at me, infuriated, moving closer and closer.

I stumble to my feet. He's killed before. I know he has. I don't have my wand on me, so I could very well be his next victim.

He keeps walking closer, agonizingly slow. I want to run, but something about his gaze holds me in place. My head tells me he's going to kill me, but something else tells me he isn't.

He backs me into a tree. He plants his arms on either side of my face. I gulp, and look up at him through my lashes. He leans in, his warm lips on mine, and kisses me senseless.

After a few seconds, he pulls back and smirks.

He starts to walk away. "See you around Y/n," he calls over his shoulder, chuckling at my blushing face.

I stare after him. He's the devil. I seem to have fallen for the devil.
