"You see, this is why I'm mom's favorite. I at least got sorted into the right house. You, on the other hand, happened to get sorted into the weakest house. I wonder why that is?" Her brother said. His words stung.

"What are you implying?" Y/n asked, sadness bubbling in her chest.

"I think you know," he brother said with a pitying smile. Y/n felt tears prickling in her eyes. She steps away from him, and starts walking down the hall.

"Hufflepuffs aren't weak. I thought. Cedric proved that," Y/n whispers to herself, walking back to her Common Room.

Entering the Common Room, Y/n's eyes land on her boyfriend, Theo, sitting on the couch, with a girl straddling his lap, whom he was kissing passionately.

"What the fuck Theo?" Y/n shouted, her anger and sadness and hurt swelling together and blooming into blind rage.

"It's not what it looks like!" Theo says, pulling away from the girl. He had red lipstick marks all over his face, neck and lips.

"I'm not stupid. We're through. Levicorpus!" Y/n hexed Theo, and now he was hanging upside down by his ankles. The girl he was with screamed, and clearly didn't know the counter spell.

"Of course he went for a dumb girl," Y/n muttered as she left the common room, unable to  think clearly.

"Neville. Neville will know what to do," Y/n mutters to herself as she's walking through the halls, her eyes stinging with tears, and her soul filled with rage. Y/n hated being angry, and Neville always had a way to calm her down.

By the time Y/n made it outside, the tears had started to fall. The weight of her brother's words and the sting of Theo cheating on her was like a slap through the face. With a brick. Made of iron.

Y/n almost doesn't see the greenhouse through her tears. Pushing her weight against the door, she stumbles through the threshold, causing Neville to sit up straighter.

"N/n?" He questioned. Neville was seated on the floor, his back resting against the greenhouse wall, his books spread around him, clearly studying for their upcoming O.W.L.S.

Y/n plops down hard on the floor, also seated similarly to Neville, just on the opposing wall, facing him. His calming aura was already taking effect on Y/n, and she no longer felt enraged.

"What happened?" Neville asked, noticing Y/n's state.

"For starters, my brother was bitching about me not being in Gryffindor again," Y/n said, rolling her eyes, even though she still had tears streaming down her face. Neville knew that even though she was saying it so nonchalantly, that it still affected her greatly.

"But isn't that all he does these days? He's failing all of his classes and he got kicked off of the quidditch team, his friends told him he can't speak to them anymore and his girlfriend of the month dumped him," Neville summed up.

"Wait, seriously? He's been telling mom and dad he's got his whole life together. He told them that over Christmas," Y/n said, her eyes widening.

"Oh, this happened just before Christmas actually. I heard him complaining about it to the Fat Lady," Neville said, rubbing his neck sheepishly.

Y/n smiled to herself. Neville had calmed her down increasingly, and made her feel better about the whole situation with her brother, even if it was at her brother's expense.

"Something else is bothering you," Neville said, now standing in front of Y/n. She jumped slightly, not even realizing that he got up or moved. He held his hand out for her to take.
