"Y/n...y/n?" Neville pokes, asking for my attention. I tear my eyes away from my Charms essay, and I smile at Neville.
"Yes Nev?" I ask, giving him my full attention. Neville smiles. We have an agreement to always give the other our full undivided attention whenever possible, as we both came from homes where our guardians or siblings would only listen with half an ear, if they even listened at all.
"How busy are you?" He asks, eyeing my charms essay.
"Never too busy for you, my love," I reply with a smile. Neville blushes at the nickname, his cheeks dusting a light pink.
"Okay, can we go to the greenhouse then?" He asks, taking my hand. I smile at him, and put my work into my bag, and get up and I let him pull me to the greenhouse. Greenhouse six. Our greenhouse. No one ever goes in there, so it's the perfect place.
We run down the hill, hands still intertwined, and Neville lets go of my hand to push the greenhouse door open. He turns and waggles his eyebrows at me with a smirk.
"Get in you goof!" I say, and push him into the greenhouse.
I set my bag down on a nearby table, and take off my robe and shoes. I walk over to Neville who had made himself comfy on the beanbag and pillows that we carried in here. The fairy lights in the ivy gave the whole setting a rather romantic glow. Neville was resting on his elbow, his sleeves rolled up to just past his elbow, his tie loosened slightly. I liked Neville like this. Relaxed, and completely comfortable.
I lie next to him, a small smile on my face. Neville wraps his arm around me, and I snuggle into his chest, his other arm cradling my head.
I don't know how long we stayed like that, just lying there, enjoying each other's company, and looking at each other.
Neville moves his hand that was wrapped around my waist to twirl a piece of my h/c hair around his finger. I trace my hand up his chest, and to his cheek. The pad of my thumb runs over the swell of his cheek bone, and Neville leans into my touch.
"I could stay like this with you forever," I hum, and Neville smiles.
"Well, why don't we?" He asks. I smile at him.
"Neville, you know damn well we need to go to class, or my parents and your grandmother will kill us," I say, and Neville rolls his eyes.
"That's not what I mean. I mean, staying with you here forever would be great, but you suffer from severe arachnophobia and in a greenhouse there are plenty," Neville says, his eyes trailing to the space above my head.
"Y/n...don't move," he says, slowly moving his hand upwards towards the space above my head. So naturally, I panicked, and started screaming. I clamber over Neville, who was now sitting upright. I sat behind his back, peering over his shoulder.
His arm was stretching up to catch a spider.
"Calm down Y/n, you're scaring it," Neville hushes.
"I'm scaring it?" I say, and I scream as the spider lands on Neville's palm.
"It's going to bite you! Kill it!" I scream, but Neville calmly gets to his feet.
"He's a cellar spider. His pincers aren't big enough to pierce human flesh, and his toxins aren't harmful to humans," Neville says with a smile, opening the greenhouse window, and sets the spider down on a leaf.
"I don't care what it is, it's terrifying!" I say, and Neville smiles wider. Neville lays down on his back on the beanbag, but I eye the area around me suspiciously.
"We need a new place to hang out," I say, and Neville laughs. I love the way he laughs. When he's genuinely laughing, his eyes scrunch up, and his laugh becomes so contagious, I can't help but want to laugh with him.
"What's so funny." I ask, after we calmed down.
"That's what I was trying to say. Imagine doing this every day, in our own home, whenever we want," Neville says, his beautiful eyes landing on me.
I smile at him. "Nev, is that your way of proposing?" I ask, and his cheeks tint pink.
"Y-yeah...but-I, I'll do it properly with a ring when we graduate, to you know, make it official," Neville stutters, and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.
I cuddle into his side. "Imagine our own little safe haven. Our own little cottage," I say, inhaling his scent.
"With a white picket fence, and big windows," Neville says.
"With yellow walls, because yellow is a happy color, and a big flower garden that we go for walks in every day."
"With a window seat and a green house, and a porch," Neville says. I see the find smile playing on his lips, I prop myself up on my elbow, and stare down at him. "I want a nice stone fireplace, and sunflowers," I add, and Neville smiles even wider.
"And I'll build it for you, just the way you want it," Neville promises, and I can't help but kiss him.
"We'll build it together. Peace and love will live within our home's walls," I say, when we pull away from the kiss.
"Our piece of heaven," Neville hums in agreement.
