Sirius Black Part 3

Remus P.O.V.

As I am walking through the classroom, my eyes glance over to Harry. I wonder why he was chosen. Why couldn't it have been someone else? Why did Sirius betray them? I blink these thoughts away, and look around at the students working on their homework.

My eyes land on a drawing lying on the floor. I pick it up. It's a very well drawn image of a leprechaun. I recognize the handwriting...Y/n. What the? How? She's supposed to be in Australia to fight off a suspected Basilisk and giant spiders.

I hand the drawing to Miss Granger. "See me after class," I say to her, and she looks guilty. I continue to walk around and see Harry look confused at the drawings. Me too Harry, me too.

"Where'd you get those?" He whispered, poking Hermione in the arm.

"I found them in my book," Miss Granger whispered back, moving away from him in her seat slightly.

That's Bollocks. That's Y/n's drawings and handwriting. We never had these textbooks. Why did she give them to Hermione? How on earth did she get back without me finding out?

Y/n P.O.V.

As I exit McGonagal's office for my weekly visit, I bump into Remus as I round a corner, literally. Oh goodness. I'm going to be in trouble.

"Y/n, hi, it's been a while," Remus said with a smile. I smile back, holding him at arms length.

"Yeah, it's been too long. How have you been?" I ask, and start walking with Remus in the direction that he came from. I hope he doesn't mention Australia.

"Oh you know, bored without you lot getting me into trouble," Remus joked. I smiled. "Yeah, I've been traveling and seeing the world." Why do I feel so guilty?

"Oh that's lovely," Remus said with a smile. His eyes looked accusatory.

"Hey, why don't we go to the Three Broomsticks to catch up?" I suggest, and Remus smiles and nods. I'll tell him the truth there.

We turn into the hall where we would pass underneath the Whomping Willow to to get to Hogsmeade.

"Oh, shit, we can't go this way," I say, remembering that Sirius was hiding away in the Willow to try and find a way to get close to Harry.

"Why not? We went this way for years?" Remus asked, raising an eyebrow. This look always made me nervous, ever since we were kids. I'd always get into trouble with him scolding me as soon as that look was on his face.

"The Willow attacked me on my way in, and it likes cats," I say, and Remus smiles. "Having a bad day then?" He asked. I can tell he's referring to the tree. "Yep. Let's take the slide down, and then the tunnel out?" I suggest, referring to our typical Hogwarts exiting route we took in school, which was hidden safely behind a pillar with no portraits in the hall to snitch.

Le time skip to the Three Broomsticks

Sitting with Remus in a booth, drinking Butterbeers reminds me of the school days. I just wish the others could be here, but two are dead, one is a bitch and the other one is a wanted criminal, so that's a bit difficult.

"First question, why didn't you tell me you were back from Australia?" Remus asked, and I cringed. I knew this would be in there somewhere.

"Well...the Basilisk and spiders were a false alarm. It's just Australia, nothing special," I say with a grin, "And then Minnie got me the position as the dark arts teacher, and then Sirius escaped..." I say, my grin faltering.

"You didn't go see him or try to look for him, did you?" Remus asked, taking a swig of his butter beer and raising an eyebrow.

"...No...He came to find me," I said, and Remus choked on his drink.

"Are you okay? He didn't do anything did he?" Remus asked, recovering from his coughing fit.

"I married the bloody idiot, I assume I can take care of myself. Anyway, he didn't do it," I stated, and Remus choked on his drink again.

"I beg your pardon?" He said, setting his glass down beside him. He ordered a Firewhisksey, and I started to explain everything.

"So you're telling me, it was Wormtail and he framed Sirius?" Remus asked, looking disbelieving.

"Yeah, and I was with Sirius the whole night, so I can guarantee he didn't kill them. And he was their best friend, and no longer their secret keeper," I said, and Remus seemed to weigh up this information in his mind.

"If this was coming from anyone else, I wouldn't believe them. But because it's you, I believe you," he says, and I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Okay, that's helpful," I say with a smile, "also, I'm pregnant."

Remus pales, seeming to remember the last Marauder who had a child died.

"...Okay...that's quite some news," Remus said, gulping down another glass of Firewhiskey. I snicker.

"Oh calm down, I'll be fine," I say with a grin.

"Oh no, I'm taking a shot for what Minnie's going to do to Sirius," Remus said with a smile, "I saw her giving detention to everyone she saw, she even gave Dumbledore detention."

I bark out a laugh. "No way!"

Remus and I continued to catch up. It reminds me of all those years ago, when we were in Hogwarts, and up until Sirius went to Azkaban. Then Remus and I lost touch, because I became obsessed with finding the truth about Sirius, and he didn't know what to believe.

Le Time Skip
Y/n back home with Sirius, having dinner

"Remus believed me," I told Sirius, after telling him about the meeting. "That's helpful. I just wish I could see Remus too," Sirius sighed. I grabbed his hand, and kissed his knuckles. We were seated in the dining room, a long empty table, with only Sirius seated at the head and me on the left. Sirius smiles, and stares down the table.

"This table is so quiet. It reminds me of when I was a kid," Sirius said with a slightly pained smile.

"Well...about that, it's not going to be quiet for long," I say, and Sirius looked over at me.

"Wait...you're?" He asked, his face breaking into a smile. I nodded, and Sirius grabbed me and spins me around. Setting me down, his smile not leaving his face. "I'm going to be a dad!" He runs into the hall screaming at his mother's portrait, I laugh when she starts screaming at him not to scream.

I couldn't have wanted a better reaction from him.
