James P.O.V.

Lily laughs in delight as I swing her around the garden. I can't help but crack a smile at her adorable laugh.

I set her down on the grass, and Albus, Lily and I lay on our backs looking up at the clouds.

"Jamie?" I hear Lily ask.

"Yes Lils?" I reply, turning me head slightly.

"When are you going to marry Y/n?" Lily asked rather innocently. I was slightly taken aback by her question. I had just completed my first year at Hogwarts, and I was turning twelve in three days.

"Isn't it a bit soon for that, Lils?" I ask nervously. Y/n has been our next door neighbor and my best friend for as long as I can remember.

"Well, she's wonderful. Marry her before someone else does," Lily said, getting to her feet.

Just Albus and I are left laying in the grass. "She's right you know. Y/n's bright, beautiful, and easily the nicest person ever, and she's skilled in like everything," Albus said, getting to his feet.

Fourth year

Now Albus and Lily's words were ringing in my ears. Before someone else does. We're sitting in the Great Hall, and she's telling her roommate Mavis, and I about her boyfriend, Levi Scamander, a fifth year Hufflepuff.

"So did you?" Mavis asked Y/n, while suggestively wiggling her eyebrows. I didn't want to hear the answer so I slammed my palms down on the table and left. She's right you know. Y/n's bright, beautiful, and easily the nicest person ever, and she's skilled in like everything. I groan in frustration.

"You all right James?" I hear Albus ask.

"You were right. I should have taken my shot while I had a chance," I sigh. Albus looked confused.

"With Y/n. She's dating Levi Scamander," I say. This seems to confuse him more.

"This may be a bad time to mention it, but Levi Scamander, the fifth year Hufflepuff boy, is super fucking gay. Like, way gay. And plus, he's in a very happy relationship with his loving boyfriend Thomas Chare," Albus summed up. Now it was my turn to be confused.

"Oh my god, your face was priceless!" I see Mavis approaching, in a fit of laughter, face red.

"You're probably the only moron in this school who doesn't know Levi is gay! Come on, he's never do it with a girl. You on the other hand..." she finished with a shrug.

I closed my eyes and pinched my nose bridge.

"Well, Y/n, Lucy, Kara, Talulah and I thought it damn well time to give you a bit of a push, mate. So go find your princess, and save my poor ass from having to listen to her ramble on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on about you, and asking what's wrong with her that you won't ask her out-"

"Where is she then?" I ask, getting impatient with Mavis' ramblings.

"Probably in the Common Room-"
