Word spreads too fast through Hogwarts. In the first wizarding war, my parents served Voldemort. Now, with the second one brewing, they have rekindled their devotion. They clearly did not think that word of Voldemort's return caused heads to turn when I entered the room, as everyone thought I had something to do with it. I'm the very person who is leaving Hermione notes with information in library books that I know she always reads, cryptic enough so no other person can figure them out. I know only Hermione would figure them out, because she won't rest until she can figure out what is said.

Still, walking down the hallways I notice people whispering behind their hands, some subtly pointing.
When I enter the Great Hall or a classroom, heads turn to look at me, only to look away as soon as I look at them, because they think I'm going to hex them into oblivion.
No one talks to me, and when they do it's because they have to, even in my own common room.

Today was another one of those days. I was sitting in the courtyard, reading up for my Transfiguration essay, when out of the corner of my eye I spot a Ravenclaw girl, the girl Cedric went to the Yule ball with two years ago.

She walked over, long straight black hair swinging as she walked. I looked up at her.
"Why are your still at Hogwarts?" She asked, folding her arms.

"Excuse me?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Since you're working for You-Know-Who, wouldn't you rather be by his side as his loyal devoted lap dog?" She asked with a patronizing smile.

"Look Barbie, I don't work for anyone-" I began to say, but she cut me off.

"Oh wait, you're here to spy on Harry, aren't you?" She asked loudly, drawing eyes to look at us.

I grit my teeth. "Stop it," I hiss.

"Or what, you're going to curse me? Like Katie?" She asked with a sneer.

"Stop it," I say, louder now.

"No, no, I want to see it. Everyone her wants to see it. Show us your dark mark," she jeered. I swallow.

"I don't have one," I say, keeping my voice level.

"Oh yes you do. Come on, show us! Show us the power of your master," she jeers. I get up slowly, and I feel eyes on me.

"No," I say, and pack up my things, walking past her.

"You're parents would be so disappointed in you. You can't even admit that you're a Death Eater. You-Know-Who's prized follower cant even take a joke," she says, and I turn to her.

"At least someone actually cares about what happens to me, even if it was two Death Eaters whom I have the misfortune of calling my parents," I say, walking back into the castle. I feel tears burning up in my chest.

What if my parents find out about what I said? What if Voldemort found out? I'd be dead.

I take off running down the hall. I need to get to my dorm. It's the only safe place for me in the whole castle.

I'm blinded by my tears, and I hear footsteps behind me. Oh no. I have to shake them before I go to my dorm. I pick up speed, and twist a corner, and try to make a sharp turn, only to slow down too much. The person chasing me catches my wrist.

"Y/n?" They question. I turn to see concerned steel eyes. I turn away, and Draco pulls me in for a hug. This is new. He doesn't like touching people.

"What happened?" He whispered into my hair.

"The whole school thinks I'm going to do something bad, because my parents are Death Eaters. They're forcing me to become one in a fortnight," I cry into his shoulder.

"Sshh, it's okay," Draco hushes. "Play the part just for a little bit. It will keep them appeased till you can get out," he said. I nodded.

"And you will get out. Voldemort will lose. There's something about hope that you can't crush, no matter how much you try. Unfortunately for us, that hope came in the form of Potter," Draco says, cracking a joke. I smile slightly and sniff.

"Potter's not that bad. Plus, I feel it's going to be Hermione who'll save us all," I say, and Draco nods.

"That might be true. She's the only one in that group with enough brains to do it," Draco said. I smiled.

"We'll get through this, together," he said, lacing his fingers through with mine and giving my hand a gentle squeeze. He leans down and kisses my forehead.

I may be scared, but deep down I know we'll make it out of this mess alive, together.
