(TBH, that's a very creative username)I was sitting in the library, reading a book on Magical creatures that laid eggs, to help my boyfriend Cedric Diggory with his preparation for the second task. I learnt that there are three types of mermaids: sirens, selkies and merrows. Only sirens gave birth to live young, and selkies and merrows lay eggs.
Out of a burst of curiosity, I read up on merpeople. Being a muggleborn, I had always been curious on how merpeople reproduce. An odd curiosity, I know.
Merrows lay eggs like frogs, long strings which later develop away from the parents because the current carries them away, but the babies eat each other till only the strongest one remains, which is awfully morbid.
Selkies are the only ones who lay solid eggs, about the size of a person's head, which resembles a black chicken egg, made out of solid onyx. The egg dies if it is kept above the water for more than two hours.
An idea strikes me, and I shoot up from my seat, plowing out of the library door, and making a mad dash for the courtyard where Cedric is supposed to be.
He sits surrounded by his friends and smiles when he sees me. He moves away from his friends slightly to greet me.
"Hey sweetheart," he says, pulling me in for a quick hug.
I hug him back quickly, but pull away slightly. "I have an idea on how you can open the egg," I say, holding onto him forearms.
His eyebrows furrow. "How?"
"Put it in water," I say excitedly.
"What?" He asked, sounding shocked.
"I was reading about Magical creatures that lay eggs, and I thought about exposing the egg to extreme heat, because it was a dragon egg, but realized that the shape doesn't add up, nor the sound it made when you opened it the first time. So I thought about animals that made screeching g sounds that lay eggs, and looked at hippogriffs, that hurry their eggs under ground, but I realized that would be impractical, so I looked into Metmaids, and a Selkie egg looks like a solid onyx version of the egg you have!" I explain quickly.
"But..." he starts, looking disbelieving.
"Just try it. Or have you made progress on your own?" I ask and Cedric pulls a face.
"Fine, I'll try it, but I need your help," he said, a smirk now forming on his features.
"Okay, just tell me what to do," I said, not anticipating his answer.
"Meet me in the Prefect's bathroom at ten," he said with a grin.
"I'm not a prefect, how do I get in?" I asked, not used to breaking rules, and already upset that he wants me to break curfew.
"Calm down, I'll let you in, and make sure you don't get caught," he said with a wink, kissing me on the forehead, beckoning me over to his friends.
"I think I'm going to work on a plan B if the water doesn't work," I say with a smile, walking back to the castle.
Le time skip m(o・ω・o)m
I stood in front of the door to the prefect's bathroom. I knocked thrice, which was a way that Cedric and I used for everything. Like, if I went to his dorm, to knock and let him know it's me.
The door flung open, and I saw Cedric with a huge grin on his face. "I'm glad you're here, I want to test your theory with the water," he said, standing to the side so I can enter.
There was a large bath, the size of a swimming pool, in the middle of the room, surrounded by steam. I heard the door close and lock behind me.
I turned and gave Cedric a questioning raised eyebrow. "So no one bothers us," he said sheepishly. I laugh and roll my eyes.
"Did you bring it?" I asked, and saw Cedric produce the golden egg from his robes. He set it down on the bench, and started pulling off his robes.
Out of habit, I turn away, which elicits laughter from him. "Why are you turning away? It's not like you haven't seen everything before."
I blush a deep crimson. He laughs again. He strides past me confidently, stepping into the bath.
"Come on love, don't be shy," he says with a smile, holding his hand out to me. I roll my eyes and start to disrobe quickly, Cedric making kissy faces at me the whole time.
I step into the bath beside him, lowering myself into the water. "Let's see if this works then," Cedric said with a boyish smile and sunk under the water. I follow after, and watch his fingers unclasp the egg.
Beautiful singing fills the water, and explains to Cedric what to do for the next task (sort of).
We burst to the surface, grinning like idiots. "We did it!" I cheer.
"You did it!" Cedric said, pulling me in for a kiss. It was warm and welcome, and I wrapped my legs around his waist, and his hands supported my rear.
He kissed down my neck and I giggled. "What?" Cedric asked, starting to giggle too. "It tickles," I say, and Cedric smirks, and starts leaving open mouth kisses all over me, leaving me breathless. "Still ticklish?" He asks between kisses, only met with my quiet gasps.
Cedric smiles again, and moves towards the wall. I don't know how he can smile in a situation like this, where I'm a lung full of air from begging him to do something.
Pushing me gently against the wall, he threads his fingers through mine, knowing I like something to hold on to for what's about to happen next. He kisses down my neck, and gently pushes into me.
My mouth falls open, and I whimper for him. With every gentle stroke, he pushes me closer to the edge.
The earth stutters in its axis as I'm flooded with an electrifying feeling, and I feel Cedric come undone.
Catching our breaths, Cedric pulls out and kisses my forehead.
"I hope you're ready for the second task," I say, bringing our minds back to reality. Cedric laughs so hard he slips on the floor of the pool and crashed into the water, and I roar with laughter. He comes up sputtering.
"Way to ruin the moment L/n," he said, sending a wave of water my way, the water slamming into my face. I spit out the water that made its way into my mouth.
"Oh please, I didn't ruin anything, I just brought reality back," I say with a smirk. Cedric rolls his eyes, and lunges at me, tackling me underwater with him.
I smile at him under the water, and he pulls me in for a kiss. It wasn't half bad, even though we couldn't breathe and my hair was floating everywhere.
We break the surface, goofy grins on our faces, probably from oxygen deprivation.
"Let's head back. Peeves must be suspicious by now," Cedric said, getting out of the water and pulling me with him.
