I'm pretty sure my brother is going to hit him. Mason never gets violent but the look on his face is something I've never seen before. Not even when my ex-boyfriend dumped me a few weeks after cheating on me. Or when I found out that I was 'the other woman' for a guy I had been seeing for a month.
Before I have the chance to stop him, Mason grabs the guy from his collar and pushes him against a wall.
"If you ever hurt my sister again, I will punch you. No matter where we are. That's a promise I don't make lightly," he threatens.
"Mason please. He didn't promise me anything. I was the one who broke my own heart, not him. Just stop," I try to push Mason aside but it's useless, he isn't moving.
The guy doesn't even blink or try to fight back, it's like he knows what he did was wrong and is ready to face the consequences. It only makes my heart break even more.
Mason finally lets go of the guy and turns to me. "And to even think you kept this from me for so long. You are my sister, and it's my job to protect you," He says and looks me in the eye.
" I know, I'm sorry. But it's my fault, so please calm down. We'll talk later, just go," I beg him to stop. I can't imagine the consequences if he punched someone during the World Cup.
Mason puts his hand protectively over my shoulder and starts leading me away from the mess I've made. My eyes are watering so bad that I can barely see where we're going. I look back and I'm met with sorrowful brown eyes. I can see that he's hurt too, because after all it is my fault.
He never gave me hope of a relationship. I was the one making a fool of myself and thinking I could do this without breaking my own heart.
I know I should've never fallen for his brown eyes.
