"Now please Maddy, I'm only going to say this once. Please, for my sake, don't get on with any football players you see here. I know they're all suited up and looking very handsome, but please. Don't flirt with them," Mason basically begs me as we're walking through the doors to the dinner together.Evelynn is just laughing besides us and Mason gives her a hard look as well.
"I know you find this extremely funny, but this includes you as well little lady. You are not my biological sister, but you might as well be. So please Evelynn, make sure my sister doesn't disappear with someone," Mason lectures Evelynn. Well, he lectures me but makes Evelynn be my babysitter. He knows me, but he seems to think I have a thing for footballers. That is not the case at all.
"Okay Mr. Overprotective ass, we both will behave. Now go and have some fun with your bros," I swat him and grab Evelynn's hand. We have some business to attend to.

Turns out that Gavi and Pedri are nowhere to be seen. Not that I care. Nope, couldn't care less. We mingle a while with the players, asking them about their games and hopes for the future, until finding our seats in England's table. Every team has their own big table and England is between Spain and Denmark. This dinner is for the players and people working in the teams. Me and Evelynn aren't really part of the team, at least officially, but Mason somehow got our names in the list. Something about bringing plus ones or something.
As we sit on our table I see this gorgeous blonde haired woman, with bright green eyes and long legs walk through the doors. She's wearing an emerald green dress with a high slit and some flashy jewellery, a bit tacky, but she's still stunning. She wears bold red lipstick that draws the attention to her mouth. She goes and sits at Denmark's table, so she must be part of their team or something. Needless to say, but she seems to draw every player's attention, even my brother's, who sits next to Jack right in front of me.
They're all wearing suits and looking like a bunch of James Bonds. Evelynn is wearing her stunning red dress again and I'm wearing a long dark blue dress with little silver stars and see through gloves. There's only a few women present so we all stand out from the sea of tuxes.
I do some silly little small talk with Jack to get my mind off of the two missing boys. I wonder why they are late, the whole team besides them is already here, sitting at their table.
The atmosphere is bubbly and lively, everyone seems to be in a good mood even though some are going home tomorrow. Everyone's just chatting to each other and having a laugh. Even my brother seems to be relaxed and having a good time. He can be so uptight sometimes, so it's great to see him be a bit silly and relaxed.
An hour goes by and we've already had our starters, still no sight of those two Spaniards. Mason sees me looking around and gives me an odd look.
"I'm hungry, where's the main course?" I tell him and he just laughs.
As they're starting to bring out the main courses, I see Gavi and Pedri arrive. They both look absolutely ashamed, which they should, considering that they were an hour late. Luckily for them no reporters were allowed inside, so no one will know they were late. Except for everyone inside this room.
They're both wearing black suits with Spain's logo and bow ties. I don't think I need to point out how handsome they both look, but so does everyone inside this room.
I lock eyes with Pedri as he starts making his way towards Spain's table. He draws in a sharp breath and his eyes roam over my body. And that makes me absolutely lose my mind. The way he looks at me is so intimate, his gaze is something between hate and attraction. I mean obviously there is something between us, and that something is attraction and sexual chemistry. But other than that there's absolutely nothing more than dislike. But oh god, the way he is looking at me right now makes me wish we were alone in this room.
