Faye kept her distance from Clarke and Lexa. Even on the long road back to Arkadia with the body of Queen Nia.
The men leading the way yelled for Lexa. They all pressed the horses forward to see what it was about.
Down where Indra and 300 others were supposed to be set up, was a field of dead bodies.
Lexa, Clarke, and Faye all went to inspect the massacre.
"All bullet wounds." Clarke said.
"Heda, come quick." A man yelled. They all ran to the man.
"Indra." They found the warrior laid back against a log groaning in pain. Clarke moved her armor to see a wound in her shoulder.
"I need bandages." Clarke demanded.
"Stay away! You're one of them." Indra told Clarke.
"Indra...Let her help. Indra what happened here?" Lexa asked.
"They attacked while we slept." While Indra explained, Clarke held pressure to her shoulder. "Our watch was to the north looking for Azgeda. They killed our archers first. Our infantry couldn't get close. Then they executed the wounded."
Faye looked at Clarke. She looked at the mass of bodies. "Everyone." The word escaped her.
"The summit was two days ago. How could Kane do this?" Clarke asked.
"It wasn't Kane. It was Pike." Indra turned threateningly towards Clarke.
"How did you escape?" Lexa asked.
"Bellamy."
Faye finally turned back to the three of them at the name. Clarke's attention was also grabbed.
"Bellamy was with them?"
"He wanted to spare the wounded, but they wouldn't listen. He convinced Pike to let me live, so I could deliver a message."
"What message?"
"Skaikru rejects the coalition. This is their land now. We can leave, or we can die."
Lexa turned to her guards. "Send riders. I call upon the armies of the Twelve Clans. In a day's time, we lay waste to Arkadia, and everyone within its walls." Lexa ordered.
"Wait." Clarke said, standing. "Give me time to fix this."
"Stop her." Lexa told the guards.
"Heda?" Faye asked.
"What are you doing?" Clarke asked.
"I can't let you leave, Clarke." Lexa said.
"So I'm a prisoner now? Just like that?" Clarke asked, stepping forward.
"Yes." Lexa told her.
"Lexa, let me go to Arkadia."
"No."
"Lexa. They listen to her."
"At least let me talk to Kane. We can bring him here." Clarke went to Indra, requesting she called upon Kane. Indra looked for Lexa's approval.
They all helped Indra into the tent and Clarke was able to stabilize her.
"The bleeding's stopped. We need to get you something for the pain. Octavia? Where's Kane?" Clarke asked.
"He sent me." Octavia walked further into the tent. She knelt next to Indra. "Indra. Thank God."
"How did this happen?" Lexa asked.
"Kane lost the election to Pike. Everything's different." Octavia explained.
"Your people voted for this." Lexa said through gritted teeth.
"No." Clarke refused. "No, I don't believe that."
"How would you know, Clarke?" Octavia said. "You haven't been here."
"Listen to me. The Grounder army is gonna be here in less than a day. I need to see Bellamy." Clarke said.
Faye stiffened at the thought of Clarke going in to see him.
"Bellamy was a part of this." Octavia reminded her. "He's with Pike. What makes you think he'll help us?"
"He saved Indra's life."
"And killed how many more?" Faye said. "We can't trust him."
"If what Octavia is saying is true, then Pike trusts him. If I can get to him, he can get to Pike."
"What makes you think you can get to him?" Faye said, meeting Clarke's eyes.
"She's right." Lexa agreed with Faye. "But, even if you could get to him, you can't just walk through the gates, Clarke. You've been living with their enemy. If it were me, I'd kill you on the spot."
"I can get her in." Octavia said. They all looked at her.
"Then I'm going with her." Faye volunteered.
