"In single combat, there is but one rule: Someone must die today!" Gaia announced.
Luna and Faye went to their corners. Faye grabbed her swords and noticed Bellamy and Clarke on the sidelines. She smiled at them.
"Yo na jomp in." Gaia announced.
Faye turned to face Luna, the butterflies in her stomach quickly turning into bees.
Luna confidently held her sword as they kept their distance.
"You know they're all murderers. They'd use our blood to save themselves before ever being our ally." Luna said, taking a small jab at Faye and missing.
Faye went straight to playing defense, refusing to fight Luna.
Faye watched for any small details. Luna dragged her foot to stop her momentum when she missed, she also didn't move her hips as well as she should.
Luna took another stab at Faye but she quickly moved to the side, hitting her hip with the hilt of her sword.
Luna kicked Faye's feet out from under her and stood over her with her spear.
It began to rain and everyone ran for cover under tents and canopies.
"They'd kill each other in the bunker before the first year ended." Luna looked at all the people scurrying away.
Faye grabbed her ankles and pulled them towards her, knocking Luna down. Faye went for her swords.
"I won't fight you." Faye shook her head.
"You don't have a choice."
With every hit Faye realizes that Luna isn't fighting to kill, she's only trying to provoke her or Faye would be dead by now.
Faye grits her teeth and gripped her swords tighter. Luna was her enemy. And Faye had to kill her to end this.
She began throwing herself at Luna, like a hurricane of death that had no mercy. This was more than survival, it was a war.
Faye brought her knee to Luna's chest and listened to her ribs crack with the sound of thunder and lightning. Luna is breathless as Faye brings her to the ground.
"They don't deserve your protection." Luna gasped.
Faye brought her blade down in Luna's chest.
"Yu gonplei ste odon, sis." Faye leaned her forehead against Luna's as the rain mixed with her tears.
Faye made her way to the tower, not caring about everyone who watched her as they hid from the acid rain.
Faye sat on the throne, finally having a moment of silence. She ignored all advice from the commanders as people began to pour into the throne room.
"Commander." Gaia bowed her head and took her place next to Faye.
"Trikru will not take the bunker. Azgeda will not take the bunker. We will share it equally because we are equal. We are all Grounders, we will survive Praimfaya as one clan." Faye said, ignore all whispers and murmurs.
"Ogeda." Everyone cheered.
Kane walked up to her. "There won't be enough room for all our people."
"I'm the commander. I know and do what's best for my people." They all ran to the temple when Kane realized no one from Skaikru had returned to the tower.
Gaia, Kane, Indra, Octavia, and Faye ran to the temple with a few guards.
"No, no. Keep everyone out." Gaia ordered the guards as Kane tried to open the bunker.
