Faye was in a deep sleep as they crossed the wasteland.

"You have waited too long. The people will never follow her now." Kemji kom Trishanakru grumbled as he dropped his head in his hands.

"Silence." Becca said.

"Becca is right. None of us have had to lead is circumstances like Faye." Lexa said.

"You must return to Polis. The clans need to see your strength, only then will they give up on Blodreina and follow the true Commander." Maffei kom Boudalankru said.

Faye woke suddenly when they hit a hard bump. "Clarke, stop the rover."

"No way." Clarke shook her head and kept driving.

"Now, Clarke." Faye demanded. When she wasn't listening, Faye grabbed the steering wheel and pulled it towards her, forcing Clarke to stop before they crashed.

"Are you crazy?" Clarke demanded as Faye jumped out of the rover.

"Faye. Faye. Oh, no, you're not." Clarke got out and chased after her. "It's 50 miles to Polis. Now get down from there." Clarke grabbed Faye's leg and pulled her down.

"Ah!"

"Uh!" They tumbled down the sand together and tried to get the upper hand.

"Let go of me."

"I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Clarke asked when they both pulled away.

"I said no. Why are you trying to stop me, Clarke?" Faye asked.

"Guys, please! Stop!" Madi screamed.

"If you want to stop me you have to kill me."

"Faye--"

"What? You're willing to let Bellamy and Indra and Gaia. Why not me?" Faye demanded.

"Get in the rover." Clarke ordered. She jumped forward, trying to force Faye into the vehicle.

"No! Get off!"

"We are not doing this now." Clarke said.

"Let me go! Stop! Why are you doing this? I need to get back." Faye rolled forward, leaving Clarke on the ground as she stood up.

"I need to go back. Commanders don't run away." Faye said.

"Well, it's a good thing you're not their Commander. Damn it, Faye. The Flame makes you wise, why are you trying to go back where they'll kill you? Why now are you acting like an entitled dictator?"

"Thanks to you, Octavia gets her war. Bellamy will be executed. Why are you trying to stop me? I can't let him die." Faye pleaded.

"Guys." Madi opened the back and she showed them the crates. "I thought now would be a good time." Madi moved a cloth covering to show a radioactive symbol.

"The worms." Clarke realized when she opened the crate. They unloaded the crates and left them there.

"One way or another, I am getting to Polis."

Clarke picked up a rock and struck Faye over her head.

"I know why you're scared of me having the Flame." Madi said, she had been sitting in the front seat after helping Clarke get Faye into the back. "Is it because of the nightmares?"

"Madi, listen to me. Commander's die, all of them." Clarke's driving sped up as she talked about it. "Badly. If I knew the outcome, I would take it from Faye without question, but I don't. Fyae is strong and has prepared for this her whole life."

"Then why are you so scared of her being Commander?" Madi asked.

Clarke slammed on the brakes. "Madi, the Flame is dangerous. Being the Commander is a constant battle between you and everyone around you. And I would not wish that on anyone."

"I just want her to be happy. Bellamy and Gaia said--" Madi began.

"Bellamy and Gaia said what they needed to to get you to take the Flame." Clarke continued driving and left the conversation behind.

"I don't understand. why are we going the long way?" Madi asked.

"I'm guessing Diyoza sleeps in her ship. We're gonna come up from behind." Clarke said.

"Soon as she sees us, she'll know her eye in the sky isn't working." Faye said. "We should have something to use as leverage so she doesn't attack." Faye said.

"She's right. It's how Bellamy saved her the moment he got back to the ground and got the bunker open." Madi said.

"By now he's probably dead." Clarke shot Faye a warning look.

A gun went off and they all ducked. They crept forward and saw McCreary standing over people.

"How can we remember what we never knew?" A man asked, his voice quivering in fear.

"Guy's got a point." McCreary shot him in the head.

"Hope."

"I don't believe him." McCreary said.

"I'm telling the truth. We don't know where they're hiding. Please." The man begged.

"Um, then you're no use to me." McCreary shot him down too.

"What are you doing?" Clarke demanded, pulling Faye back down.

"They're killing the defectors. Those are my people." Faye said.

They all ducked and stopped talking when McCreary looked their way. Another man got up and ran but didn't get far before he was shot.

"Your mother's a defector, too." Faye reminded Clarke.

They went up to the last prisoner who was left to dig a hole for the bodies.

"Shh." Faye grabbed his hair and held a knife to his throat. "Where's Diyoza?" She demanded.

"We don't know. McCreary's in charge now. I can take you to him."

"Madi, get behind me." Clarke demanded as the child wandered to the hole. "And the doctor? Where's she?" Clarke asked the prisoner.

"Answer the question." Faye said, pressing the knife further against his throat.

"Uh, gas station. Please, don't kill me. I can take you." The man pleaded.

Faye quickly slit his throat. As the man choked on his own blood, Faye threw his body in the hole. "Let's go find your mom."

They went to the gas station and walked in, trying their best not to be seen.

"Madi, keep watch." Faye told her.

"Mom. Mom? Oh, my God. Mom. Mom?" Clarke found Abby lying on the floor with pills all around her. "Mom. Wake up." Clarke grabbed her face.

"What happened to her?" Madi asked.

"I don't know. Mom? Mom, please...Wake up. Wake up."

Faye grabbed the empty pill bottle on the floor.

"A warrior's death awaits." Indra took Bellamy's hand.

Rich gave a pack to Bellamy. "I know we got off on the wrong foot. I didn't trust you. But I'm glad you're alive." Bellamy told him.

"Faye did everything to protect you and your people, she had to truly trust you. I will fight with you." Rich said.

"I just want to find Faye." Bellamy said.

"And I just want to find my friend and Commander."
