"All of me for all of us." Clarke repeated what everyone chanted. "It's kind of beautiful."
"How so?" Bellamy asked.
"They lost 400 people. It's a third of everyone in that bunker. And they had no idea if they'd ever get out. Yet look at them-- Strong, unified. I can see why my mom was terrified, but you gotta admit--it's impressive."
"So are the last two people on Earth. How'd you two do it?" Bellamy asked.
"I'm just lucky Faye doesn't hold a grudge for too long. And then we found Madi." She watched Faye standing with Rich, away from the crowd. "I'm tired. You can have the rest of my rations. Omon gon oson."
"Right." Bellamy scoffed, which sounded like a light chuckle.
"May we meet again." Faye said softly.
"I must speak with the Commander." Gaia said, walking towards Rich and Faye. "Alone." She said.
"Of course." Rich nodded and left.
Faye looked at Gaia. "Sheidheda is gone. I can see that." Gaia said with a small smile.
"Even when you weren't there, I listened to your teachings." Faye said.
"Apparently not all of them." Gaia glanced towards Bellamy, sitting alone by a fire after Clarke had just left.
Faye looked confused.
"Hodnes laik kwelnes." Gaia told her.
"Not always." Faye objected. "Do you think I am weak?" Faye asked.
"You have a strong heart. But you need to take back your people. You have the Flame. Octavia only has her sword." Gaia said.
"And all of Wonkru at her fingertips." Faye added. "They'd shoot me before ever following me." Faye said.
"To be the Commander is to be alone. But that doesn't mean you have to fight alone."
"Help!"
"We need help!"
"The scouts." Gaia realized.
"Miller, what is it?"
"Medic! We need help! It's Obika!" Miller yelled.
"I'll get the med kit." Clarke said.
"Please, help us!" Miller exclaimed. "He needs help!"
"Are we under attack?" Octavia asked.
"I don't know what's wrong!" Miller carried the boy's body into camp. "Please! Hurry! Someone help him!"
The boy screamed in pain.
"Out of my way. I can help him." Clarke pushed past the crowd.
"Not you." Cooper stopped her.
"Octavia." Clarke said.
"Let her in." Octavia said.
"He's alive, but his heart's racing." Clarke checked the boy.
"What the hell happened out there?" Octavia asked Miller.
"We separated to cover more ground. Then I hear him screaming out that they're everywhere. Then I get to him and there's nothing. It's just more screaming and--" Miller continued.
Something moved in the boy's stomach and Clarke jumped back.
"There's something inside him."
They rushed him to a tent.
"Nobody else comes inside." Clarke ordered.
"Move!" Miller demanded.
"Right here. Put him on the table." Bellamy said.
"Help me get his jacket off." Clarke said.
"Faye, what is this?" Indra asked.
"I don't know." Faye said.
"Miller, tell us exactly what happened." Clarke said.
"Nothing happened. We stopped to eat. Then we separated again. Next thing I knew, he was screaming." Miller explained.
"Your rations. Show me."
"Nothing's wrong with our rations." Cooper said.
"He was eating when it happened." Clarke told her.
"Cooper's right. If it was the rations, Miller would have it, too. They share everything." Octavia said.
"Well, it got in him somehow." Clarke said.
"Wait." Bellamy shined a light on the boy's leg. "Look." He lifted the fabric of his pants.
"It came from the sand." Clarke realized.
"We have to go back." Faye said.
"No." Octavia said.
"What?" Faye demanded.
"Octavia, he told Miller that they were everywhere." Clarke reminded her.
"Yes, but Miller just said he saw nothing." Octavia said.
"Everywhere could mean everywhere inside him. I agree with Bloodreina." Cooper said.
"What a surprise." Indra said.
"We march on at first light." Octavia said.
"We could all be dead at first light." Faye snapped.
"And Obika?" Miller asked.
"If he's not better by then...I'll end his pain myself."
Octavia walked out and Faye stormed after her. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Faye demanded.
Everyone outside turned to watch the two.
Two threatening looks and everyone went to their tents.
"You're not the Commander anymore." Octavia said. "The past is gone. Keep up."
"You're about to destroy our future. Good luck." Faye turned, about to leave when Octavia spoke up.
"You put me in charge. Did you think all the clans would follow me because you said so? You had no idea what I had to do. What it was like in the bunker." Octavia said.
"We're not in the bunker!" Faye raised her voice unintentionally. "If we don't go back, everyone could be dead by morning. Are you doing this for the valley, or for your own reign?"
"Go float yourself." Octavia said as Faye walked away.
When Faye went back to the tent she saw Bellamy sitting and Clarke trying to help Obika. They both looked up at her.
"What does float myself mean?" Faye asked.
