Faye stood at the top of the steps and watched the group leave.
"Oh." She pulled her hand back when she felt something licking her fingers. "Hey." Faye stepped to the side but the dog kept smelling up her leg.
"It's okay. She's friendly." Russell called to Faye. He offered the dog a ball and knelt down to pet her. "Hey, come here."
Faye looked down, confused.
"Then it is true. They told me the Earth was destroyed. I suppose I had hope for man's best friend."
Russell threw the ball and Fay's watched the dog run after it.
"She also told me you were already here when she arrived. The radiation shield has kept us safe for 209 years. I need to know how you breached it."
"One of our people, Shaw, was the pilot on Eligius 4. He knew the failsafe code. Radiation killed him, but not before he saved us. Thank you. I'll delete the code."
The dog came back with the ball and Russell threw it once more.
"Wait up!" A child yelled.
"Have you ever known peace, Faye?" Russell asked as he saw how to she looked at the families.
Faye was silent. There were times when she was happy, but never at peace.
"You're gonna like it here."
"We can stay?" Faye asked.
"I haven't decided. We'll talk about it over dinner at the palace. You and Clarke are both welcome." Russell walked away after inviting her and Faye watched children play around with each other.
Faye found Clarke and they made their way back to the others.
"I have to get out of here." Jordan said as soon as the door opened.
"Not gonna happen, Jordan." Clarke said.
"You've been locked inside for 26 years. What's one more day?" Miller asked as Jackson bandaged his arm.
Murphy shot up and started screaming.
"Hey, hey, you're okay." Emori said, placing her hand on his shoulder.
Murphy tried to stand but fell to the floor.
"John, John, the toxin's gone." Emori said. "It's gone. Everyone's okay. Faye, tell him."
"It's true, okay?" Faye said. "We all made it, thanks to you."
"No, I didn't. I died, didn't I?" Murphy looked up at them.
"Your heart did stop, but the people here revived you" Abby told him.
"I saw something." Murphy said. "I f—I felt something."
"Hey, John..." Emori whispered.
"We should give them a minute." Abby said.
"Clarke." Faye called her over. "Russell has invited us to dinner at the palace. He's considering letting us stay.
"By the glory and grave of the Primes, daily tai chi is commencing now. May your hearts be filled with love and light. As we love as one." A woman said on the P.A.
Faye turned her head when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. In the mirror she saw the hooded figure with one eye.
He raised his finger to his lips, telling her to be quiet.
"Faye?" Clarke touched her shoulder and Faye snapped out of her thoughts. When she looked back at the mirror, all she saw was herself.
"We should get ready."
