There are so many thing you need to know before even starting middle school! So I just going to get started!

1)Getting a BackPack!

DO NOT, WHAT EVER YOU DO, RESIST GETTING A ROLLING BACKPACK! You will regret it. I know you think that it will help carry all you books and have less strain on your back, but when you getting through the halls it's is nightmare! Seriously! You run over people's feet, people will kick it and if a wheel breaks while your in the hall, I wish you luck, trying not to get tripped on! When getting your backpack get something with straps that go I your back.. There's a reason it called BACKpack! Even a bigger messenger bag will do. Something that stays close to your body will help. Trust me you will thank me for telling you that!

2) Your Lunch Bag/Box.

This is almost as important as you backpack. If your lucky your middle school will have lockers for 6th graders, so keep your lunch in there and plan on when you can go back and get it before you go to lunch. I have recently started using brown paper bags for lunch, because they don't take up as much space as a lunch bag or box. It's easy to keep in my locker and won't take up to much space, and I will still have places to put my books. In 6th grade I had a locker, but it wasn't in an accessible place, so I never once EVER went to my locker. I had to carry everything around. And in 6th grade, not knowing anything about middle school, I got some bulky lunch box. And since I carried everything having a bulky lunch box didn't help... AT ALL! In 7th grade I got a lunch box that would fold flat , which was much better, but it still would take up space in my locker, since I had a good locker in 7th grade that I could actually use. In 8th grade I just gave up on lunch bags/boxes and used brown paper bags. I throw them out after lunch and have nothing to worry about. I really find that the best choice in my opinion. But you do what works best for you!

3) Your School Supplies

In elementary school, you would bring every single bit of supply you bought on the first day of school. In middle school, that's a big DON'T!! All you need on the first day of middle school is either a binder with some loose leaf paper and a pencil or two, or a notebook with a pencil or two. On your first day, you just got a new schedule, and your in a new environment! You do not want to carry all the supplies with you. When you first get into class , the teacher will tell you the supplies necessary for that class. So don't stress about having to carry everything on the first day!

4) Lockers...

When you have a locker, the school usually sells that locks that you have to use on your lockers. When you get a new lock, bring that sucker home and practice putting in the combo in over and over ! At my school we have 5 minuets between each class change. So if you don't know how to open your lock your in major trouble! And it's not going to help at all . I really recommend you learn your combo and practice opening it , until you really get the hang of it. Until you get used to it, don't put it on your locker. And make sure you can put in your combo fast, your on the clock when the bell rings for class change, it's a mission to be able to get to class on time!

5) Teachers!

Meeting your teachers for the first time is really nerve racking! Not knowing if there nice, mean, fun, hard, easy. It's just scary!! But your class is all about what you make it, not based on what the teacher is like... JUST KIDDING! It really does depend on your teachers teaching style. Some teachers go fast and some go slow. It all depends on how you like to learn. And when ever you have questions or suggestion make sure you tell you teacher! They are there to help you! Believe it or not teachers actually care if you pass or not. And make sure when you first meet your teacher you make a good impression, you don't want to start off on the wrong foot and give your teacher the wrong impression about you. Also don't judge your teacher right when you meet them, or what other kids say about them. In 6th grade everyone told me that my history teacher is the meanest, that her class is boring and that she yells a lot! But she ended up being one of my favorite teachers! Her class was fun and we did cool projects, and she was actually rather nice! But one thing I really like about her an her teaching is that she actually challenges you. She doesn't make it too hard, but just enough to actually get you thinking, and thats just how I like to learn. So don't judge your teachers because they could end up being fantastic, when you thought they would be horrible!

I have a lot more helpful tips coming. I just wanted to get some started. Let me know what you think:)! And if this is actually helpful! Or if there's something you want some tips about:)! Vote and comment please thanks you!!
