The next mooring we had a funeral for Dale . We all gathered around and shared stories about him. Rick came and said a few words.

Dale could get under your skin. He sure got under mine, because he wasn't afraid to say exactly what he thought, how he felt. That kind of honesty is rare and brave. Whenever I'd make a decision, I'd look Dale. He'd be looking at me with that look he had. We've all seen it one time or another. I couldn't always read him, but he could read us. He saw people for who they were. He knew things about us, the truth, who we really are, in the end, he was talking about losing our humanity. He said this group was broken. The best way to honor him is to unbreak it. Set aside out differences and pull together, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take control or our lives. Our safety, our future. We're not broken. We're gonna prove him wrong. From now on we're gonna do it his way. That is how we honor Dale. Rick said.

Later that day I found Daryl sitting outside of the steps.

I sat next to him.

I'm sorry about Dale, I know he was important to you. I said.

I should, have known he was not gonna make it. Daryl said.

Daryl it's ok to let yourself feel. And it's ok to let people see that you are grieving. I said.

Daryl than got up and left as I followed.

I turned him around.

What, do you want from me. He said.

I want you to stop pushing people who are trying to help you away. I said.

I never said I wanted your help! Daryl Yelled.

You didn't have to! I yelled.

Daryl and I just stood in silence.

Listen hear, I don't need somebody like you comin in my life and thinking you know what's best for me. Daryl said, as he walked away.

Later that night, we were all gathered together, when Shane came in the house.

Rick there is something up, I was walking by and there's something wrong with these walkers, I think you should come check it out. Shane said.

Rick just staired at Shane in silence.

Alright. Rick said.

Wait Rick can I talk to you for a minuet. I asked.

Rick nodded.

Rick and I went to the next room.

Rick I don't think you should go with Shane. I said. He has become mentally unstable, and come on now please tell me you don't believe his bullshit story. I said.
