It's been at least 4 weeks since she's left Nevermore and everything was moving really fast. She'd talked to Enid almost twice a week after her regular hospital visits. At this point she had lost track of how many times she'd visited, probably more than twenty. She'd been so tired from all the treatments and things they had her take. She had already been there so many times that she could recognize almost every single nurse, patient, and doctor. She was slowly starting to lose her mind.

Once Wednesday had awoken, her mother barged in to tell her that she would be having surgery in just a couple of hours. And apparently when her mother said a couple of hours, she meant only one. She slowly got up from her bed and walked over to her closet looking for some comfy clothes to grab on. When she was done changing she walked over to her shoes and slipped them on and headed down the stairs where her dad was waiting for her by the door.

"All ready my little raven?" He was about to open the door for her.

She nodded making sure to thank her father on her way out while he opened the door for her. She sat down in the car across from her father watching as he slid in. Her mother wasn't going with them but she would be coming by later to check on her. They were referred to a hospital near their house instead of one near Nevermore because of how far it was.

They made it to the hospital with only about fifteen minutes to spare. They walked in and Gomez sighed her in as she walked to her usual seat in the back corner of the room which she had started to like. She loved how it was weirdly warmer in the back and she also loved that she could be in peace away from everyone.

Once they got called by her doctor, Dr. Martinez they stepped into his office to talk about the procedure plan. He first talked about how they would be surgically removing the cancerous lymph nodes. After surgery she would then have to undergo about five or six cycles of chemotherapy.

Once she was ready for surgery after they had weighed her and had her blood drawn, she put on a hospital gown and had an IV put in. She walked into the operation room with her father by her side. They instructed her to lay down on the bed while they put her under anesthesia.

"Okay I want you to count down from 100" the Anesthesiologist said while injecting her with anesthesia.

She started slowly counting down from one-hundred "one-hundred, ninety-nine, ninety-eight, ninety-seven...."

Her father watched as her eyes rolled to the back of her head losing consciousness. His heart felt like it had stopped beating. The anesthesiologist noticed his reaction.

"I know it's scary especially if it's your own kid but think of it like she's sleeping. Just know that she's not gonna be in any pain while we operate on her" she said looking over at him "now that we will be operating we will need you to go into the waiting room, we'll go ahead and call you back in when the surgery is over"

He looked down at his little raven who was sound asleep. He felt terrible having to leave her alone without him by her side. However, he knew he wouldn't be allowed to stay even if he paid them. He walked into the waiting room hoping this would go by fast. He took a seat in their usual corner waiting for Morticia to arrive.

Once she arrived she walked right over to him hugging him tightly before sitting down next to him tightly holding his hand. Time felt like it was moving in slow motion. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like years. How would they know if the treatment would work?

Finally after what felt like years they had finally been told that the surgery went well and they could see her. They quickly walked over to the PACU (post-anethesia unit care/ recovery room) where it was full of beds from other people who had just gotten out of surgery. They pulled her blue curtain to the side closing it when they got inside her small square of privacy. She looked almost unrecognizable from the hospital bed she was in. She was way pale and she was attached to a heart monitor that was sitting next to her bed. She had her IV still in, secured with bandages. If you looked closely you could see another bandage coming out of her gown. They both took a seat next to her bed and waited for her to wake up. Neither of them was able to look away from their beautiful daughter's sleeping form.

After about ten minutes she had finally started to wake up. When she opened her eyes quickly squinting them as she tried to adjust to the bright hospital lights her eyes tiredly drifted close again.

"You okay hun?"

She turned over towards the voice now on her side not bothering to open her eyes.

"Are you tired?" She asked her with a loving smile

She opened her mouth trying to say something but nothing came out but mumbling.

A nurse walked in with a smile "Okay great she seems to be waiting up now, she'll be a little loopy for a couple of minutes which is completely normal after undergoing under anesthesia" the nurse said

"Good morning my little raven" Gomez said gently moving her hair out of her face

She tried opening her eyes but the bright lights were still making it difficult.

"Mother" she whined

"Yes? What's wrong hun?"

"I miss my best friend Enid" she slurred before closing her eyes and rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes with her bandaged hand.

"Careful hun" her mother said gently caressing her other hand.

She then started talking about how the leaves were biting her.

After a couple of minutes of talking nonsense she had finaly seemed to go back to her regular self a frown settled on her face.

"Are you okay now? Any pain?" The nurse asked her gently

She shook her head

"Nausia?" she asked again

She nodded her head

"Okay so we have some medication for that will you be willing to swallow a pill?" The nurse asked her

"Mhm" she hummed agreeing

"Perfect" the nurse said before hanging her a tiny water bottle and a tiny pill

Her father helped her sit up before taking the pill. After she took the medication they checked her vitals making sure they were alright before rolling her into her own room. They had told her before surgery that she would be kept in the hospital under observation for a couple of days to make sure she was doing alright. Her parents had to choose who stayed with her those nights. This was because Pugsley was all alone due to Uncle Fester going away for a few days. Her mother offered to stay since her father was the one that took her to the opointmen. However, they gave each other a quick peck on the lips before her father left saying goodbye to her.

She didn't want to think about what was going to happen to her and Pugsley. Since she got sick, he's been scared for her, not terrified of her. Though she knew their relationship would change forever in a way she knew she wouldn't be able to fix. However, she still felt terribly guilty for causing her brother deep amounts of pain. She loved him and she wished he were aware of that.

Her mother walked over to the bed and pulled the covers over her tucking her in before giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Good night hun, sleep well" she said before walking over to the sofa by the window with an extra pillow and blanket in her hands.

She felt the need to complain about how she could've tucked herself in. However, she was already feeling sorry for her since she had to sleep on the sofa.

"Night mom" she said quietly enough for her mother to hear her.

Morticia smiled affectionately hearing her daughter call her mom for the first time.
