33. Kiss

The next morning I wake up to a bright shine through the window of Wednesdays room. I look around before standing up and noticing that Wednesday is still asleep. She looks so cute. Okay I really need to stop. When I walk into the hallway and down the stairs, I smell egg. I walk into the kitchen and spot Gomez and Morticia cooking.

"Good morning Enid" Morticia said looking over at her

"Morning, what are you making?"

"My amazing beans and egg" Gomez said budding in

"Sounds good"

"Is Wednesday up yet?" Morticia asked while grabbing some plates from a cabinet

"Nope"

"Could you wake her up please because the food is almost ready?" Morticia asked her

"Of course, I'll be right back" she said before heading back up the stairs.

When she finally made it up to the room she opened up the door because for some reason it was closed. I guess I must have forgotten that I had closed it.

"Wednesday wak- oh shit my bad!" She said as she quickly covered her eyes and walked out making sure to close the door on her way out.

She could feel her face become warm. She just accidentally walked in on Wednesday changing! She looked gorgeous. She was snapped out of her thoughts when the door opened.

"I am so sorry" she said quickly apologizing

"It's fine Enid really" Wednesday said before heading towards the stairs

"Where are you going?"

"Breakfast is almost ready isn't it?"

"Oh! Right!" she said as she sped up to catch up with her

A little later in the day both girls were up in her room talking.

"By the way about the hoodie-"

"Right, you can have it back if you'd like" Enid quickly interrupted before going to take off the hoodie

"No! What I was trying to say is that I don't mind you wearing it" she looked into Enid's eyes "it actually looks really nice on you" she absolutely meant all this

She looked deeply into the beautiful blue ocean eyes that were about two feet away from her. Enid's eyes were full of something she had never seen before.

"I like you!" The girl in front of her blurted out quickly

Enid looked incredibly nervous, but she was also feeling nervous.

"Look I know you have a lot of things going on and I wouldn't imagine you wanting a relationship at this moment but the truth is I've been having the biggest crush on you for a long time like before you were even sick and I just can't stop myself from thinking about you, but can you really blame me? Your eyes, your striking dark brown eyes are amazing and your rare smile is magnificent. And I'm fine if you don't like me that way or don't want a relationship. All I want is for us to remain friends."

She could feel her heart speeding up and pounding against her chest like it was trying to break through her ribs. She experienced the fluttering sensation in her stomach again. And she couldn't help but feel her face warm up as Enid confessed her feelings for her. It was everything she had ever dreamed of hearing, but now that she was here she was scared to hear it.

But it seemed as if she was silent for a bit for long since Enid had started to seem as if she was regretting what she had said.

"I completely understand if you don't feel the same" Enid said trying to smooth out her voice from shaking.

"Who said I didn't feel the same way?" she asked quietly. There is no going back now.

Enid's eyes grew wide as her cheeks reddened.

"You like me?" She said her voice a bit flattered

Endi, of course I like you. The mark you have left on me is indelible" she said as a small smile landed on her lips.

Enid's face lit up but she needed to make sure that Wednesday liked her, not just in a friend type way but how?

As Wednesday's eyes flew down her lips and back up to her eyes, Enid watched. Enid finally found the courage to fill in the gap that stood in between the two. She pressed her lips against Wednesday's. The kiss was answered without hesitation by Wednesday. Enid's hands reached Wednesday's waist, she brought her closer while Wednesday reached out and wrapped her arms around Enid's neck.

When they finally separated, Enid felt like her heart could explode at any second. Her face was probably red as a tomato. She looked down at Wednesday noticing the small smile on her lips while the blush spread to her cheeks. Suddenly she felt alive.

Wednesday could feel the fluttering sensation in her stomach even more now. It's like something in her sparked. A good kind of breathlessness struck her.

As soon as they shared that kiss, the weekend flew by even faster than she had imagined, and before she knew it, she was saying goodbye to Enid again. They held each other in a tight embrace before Enid let go and gave her a series of kisses on her cheek. Every single kiss caused her stomach to do somersaults.

"I guess I'll see you again for..." Enid thought for a moment "I think for Christmas"

Christmas was about four weeks away so about the time she would be done with her treatment.

"You'll promise to call every day right?" Enid asked

"If you insist" she said

"I'll miss you so much" Enid said as she cupped her cheeks and kissed her on the lips

"Did I ever tell you how stunningly beautiful you are?"

As she said that Wednesday, her cheeks turned pink as she tried to suppress a smile.

"Ugh you have to stop being so cute when we're saying goodbye" she said.

"I am not cute" Wednesday mumbled

She pretends to hate being called cute but loves being called it. It gave her a big fluttering sensation in her stomach that wouldn't go away.

"Okay, so let's stop being all touchy and stuff so you can get back to beating the shit out leukemia. I'll see you in a couple of weeks when I can hug you and only you since you won't have anymore of thoses leukemia cells in you"

She extended her hand to shake hands in a formal manner. A handshake was exchanged between Wednesday and her. Standing in between them, they looked down at their hands before turning back to each other and breaking out in laughter.

Wednesday's laugh was the most beautiful sound ever.
