She kept telling herself that she could make it until morning. However, her thoughts kept wandering back to the time she was told about how dangerous having a fever could be. But now that she thinks about it she never really paid attention to what would happen if she actually ended up having a fever. She tried thinking back to the time her father had a talk with her regarding her safety and risks. Then she remembered. She was told that if she contracted a fever, she would have to tell an adult immediately. What would happen if she didn't tell anyone? Would she make it through the night? What if she died right here in her bed asleep ignoring the fact she had told her parents about this?

When she thought she might die, her breathing quickened. The thought scared her tremendously. She had to do it. She had to ask for help.

With the thermometer in her shaky hand, she threw the covers off her and threw her legs onto the edge of the bed, the cold air hitting her like a set of painful pins. The movement made her dizzy. She felt as if everything she saw was all fuzzy. She rested a bit before standing up. Her legs were shaking slightly. Her head was pounding even more now that she was walking. She walked down the hall and reached her parents' bedroom door. She knocked lightly before attempting to open the door. It was locked. Why would her parents lock the fucking door!? Where they trying to kill her!?

She knocked on the door harder and more urgently. It definitely seemed to wake them up after that. She heard shuffling from the inside of the room and a few seconds later heard the door unlock. The door opened, revealing her mother, who was still half asleep.

"I have a fever" she anxiously spat out loud her voice failing to sound calm

Hearing this information seemed to wake her mom up fully. Her mom looked at her looking closely at her. She was as pale as fun dip powder. But her mom noticed the way her gaze flickered to let her know she was distraught.

Her mom immediately placed the back of her hand on her forehead. The heat radiating off her body seemed to shock her mother.

"Shit." Her mom said quietly hoping she didn't hear. She forced herself to breathe and stay calm. She reached for the thermometer still in her shaky hands. She read the most recent temperature that was taken.

"Oh my god that's high" she let out in a panicked voice. "Gomez! Have Lurch get the car ready. She has a fever of 108" she said failing to hide the panic in her voice.

By the time she had said his name he was already out of the room. She looked back at Wednesday to see Wednesday looking terrified.

"It's okay dear you're going to be okay" she said trying to reassure Wednesday and herself at the same time. "Come sit down till your father comes back alright" she said patting her hand on her shoulder leading her to the chairs beside their bed.

"I'm really proud of you for coming to get us Wednesday" she said before Gomez came barging into the room with Wednesday's hoodie and shoes.

"I'll go with her" she said quickly. She knew that they should've decided who was going to go with Wednesday together like they had always don't but at this moment she felt as is she were to leave her side she would not make it. Luckily Gomez nodded approvingly.

"Hold on before you guys go the doctors said we could give her some medicine in the meantime to help with the fever While Wednesday took the medicine she grabbed everything she needed quickly changed and grabbed everything she could possibly think they might need.

As Wednesday tried to get off the chair she seemed to become light-headed. She had her hoodie and shoes on already so there was only one thing she could possibly do to help Wednesday get down to the car. She crouched down in front of the chair motioning for her to move onto her back. Thankfully Wednesday didn't argue with her.

She grabbed her legs and lifted her up as Wednesday rapped her arms around her neck. She very carefully but quickly made her way downstairs and towards the car where Lurch was waiting for them with the door open. As she walked towards the car she could feel Wednesday's face against the side of her neck. She was extremely warm. You could cook an egg on her if you wanted to.

After carefully placing Wednesday down, she helped her into the back seat where she sat in front of her. Wednesday was having difficulty putting on her seat belt because her hands wouldn't cooperate with her. She couldn't even get her seat belt on because her hands were shaking so much. The car then began to move.

When they arrived at the emergency room staff found out that she was a chemo patient and they seemed to take this type of thing very seriously.

"You're going to have to be admitted and your mother can stay with you don't worry" a doctor said "if you guys could wait here in the waiting room for just a moment so I could assign you a room that would be great" the doctor said before walking back over to the reception desk.

Wednesday had never felt so relieved to be told that her mother would be able to stay with her. She had started getting used to her parents being there for her and to be honest she dosent think she would survive having this illness without them.

With her parents helping her out with everything. This includes when they got her lollipops when she was feeling nauseated, blankets when she was cold or juice when she was thirsty. All the stuff they helped her with made the illness a little easier to deal with. She could trust them to keep her alive even when she had no energy. When she felt life less.

When they had finally been given a room to stay in she climbed into the bed. She had to get an IV in so they could put fluids through it to help fight the infection off faster. In the meantime she had stopped shivering and her fever had dropped down a bit because of the medicine she had taken before.

Once the nurse left she spoke "that was quite frightening wasn't it dear" she said bringing her hand up to rest on her cheek.

In a reassuring manner, Wednesday grabbed her mom's hand and squeezed it. She couldn't meet her eyes though. In the meantime she let go of her hand as her mom slowly made her way onto the bed with her. Her mom carefully laid down next to her so as not to hurt her. As soon as she got comfortable, she embraced her mother tightly and nuzzled her head.

Morticia's heart soared. She had only held Wednesday like this when she was just a baby. She stopped tears from flowing at that moment. It made her so proud to see how much her little raven had grown in the last few months.

Seeing Wednesday fall asleep cuddled up against her, she heard her breathing quieten. With the knowledge that everything was fine, she could feel herself calm down. Feeling herself start to sleep, she wrapped her arms around her.
