Sadly the weekend had passed by faster than she had wanted because after Sunday everyone had to leave, including Enid. She also got the sores out of her mouth by just rinsing it with mouthwash her dad bought for her. Since she was starting to feel better she decided to start trying to catch up on her school work. Despite trying to focus on her work most of the time, she couldn't stop thinking about Enid.

Several weeks after her birthday, she started seeing Dr. Martinez before every cycle. Their discussions focused on how well she was responding to the treatment. She had taken a scan a few days prior so that's what they were currently talking about.

Based on the scans, we seem to see only a little leukemia left, which is a great sign." he said.

Dr. Martinez then started to talk about what treatment they would be using. At this point she just wanted to wing it and not do anymore treatment. This was because it was like her illness was almost gone but she knew she couldn't do that. She was stuck in this off-and-on pain.

It was necessary to check her before sending her for treatment. The doctor made her stand on a scale and they also checked her throat to make sure it was getting better which it was. And finally the day she had been hoping for. She was finally able to get the feeding tube out. Well as long as she managed to get enough nutrients on her own.

When she finished the check-up, she went to the area where she was getting her treatment. She had started to recognize almost every patient in the room who seemed to befriend each other. However, she didn't feel like touching shoulders with someone or talking to anyone so she just stayed in her usual spot at the back.

Today was a simple day as they stated but it was also quite a boring one as well. She was undergoing cisplatin therapy, which she had already done a couple of time before. It's where they would have you put an IV in for three or more hours. Today she was just about to read the book that Enid bought her for her birthday. And to be honest it was quite interesting. She should really take more book recommendations from Enid. However, her mother still insists on staying with her during these boring hours.

Morticia was delighted that Wednesday was getting back into reading. She watched her daughter closely noticing how every now and then a tiny smile would twitch into her lips. This left her without a doubt thinking that she was currently thinking about Enid.

Enid noticed that Wednesday seemed to give Enid the majority of her attention when she last visited during Wednesday's birthday. She also saw that Enid also deeply cared about Wednesday, which made her believe that their feelings for each other were the same. She desperately wanted to talk to find a way to talk to Wednesday about it. However, she knew that Wednesday would rather pull out and eat her eye balls than talk about her feelings. But somehow she had to manage to find a way. Then she had an idea.

"How thoughtful of Enid to buy you a book" she said trying to start a conversation

But all she got back was a hum in return.

She had to keep trying.

"You really like to spend your time with her don't you?"

Wednesday just stayed silent. She knew this was going to be a difficult process. Even though she spoke about it, she knew it wouldn't be easy to discuss it with Wednesday.

"You know Enid's such a great girl, I understand why you like her. I don't think I would be weird if you did have some type of feelings for her you know"

At this point Wednesday had stopped reading. Her book was closed as she was now looking at her with a look of annoyance and.... nervousness?

"What are you talking about?" Wednesday hissed

Finally she had the courage to spit it out

"Wednesday, I see the way you are with her. I can't help but feel that you have romantic feelings for her" she said looking at her

Wednesday's eyes widened with dread

"I do not wish to continue on with this conversation" she firmly said opening back up her book.

"I know it's scary, but there's a chance that she may also return these feelings for you if you tell her how you feel."

"No thanks I'd rather pull my eyes out and eat them" Wednesday muttered

As she was about to say something, she noticed Wednesday hadn't denied her love for Enid. She could feel that she was making progress.

"She's caring deeply for you Wednesday. Is it really impossible for you to think she doesn't have feelings for you too?"

Wednesday started down with her book

"I can't imagine why she would have feelings for me" Wednesday admitted

"Why wouldn't she? You guys have fun together and you've really opened up to her which probably makes her feel special knowing you have trouble with that stuff."

Wednesday let out a sigh

"It's just that..." she trailed off

"Just what dear?"

Wednesday paused and took a deep breath before continuing

"It's just that I don't feel exactly beautiful"

Wednesday's eyes met her before she quickly pulled away from her. When the little raven told her what was really bothering her, she was aghast. She felt her heart sink upon hearing those words coming out of her mouth. It was impossible for her to imagine Wednesday feeling troubled over something like this.

"Wednesday...." she said trying to think of her words carefully. "I know what you're going through is tough but you need to know that what you have been through shouldn't stop you from having a relationship. The most significant thing is how you both connect. Looks shouldn't be as significant. When you care deeply about someone looks should be the last thing on their mind.

"It matters!" Wednesday said angrily, gesturing at herself. "She just can't ignore all this when it's right in front of her."

"In particular when she looks so... and when she's so.."

Astonishing, incredible, breathtaking, phenomenal, stunningly beautiful. The unspoken words linger in the air.

"You're right, I'm sorry" she said quickly. "What I mean is that you need to give Enid a chance. It's not up to you to decide what she's feeling but she knew you before you were sick. Do you think your feelings for her would disappear if she ever got sick?"

Wednesday shook her head no

"See? You should at least think about telling her when you're ready."

Her entire body flutters when she hears what her mother says. Was horror and excitement responsible for those effects? As if she weren't already convinced, she began to feel her stomach flutter at the thought of something more than friendship between her and Enid.
