After the scare she had given her parents she was able to return home after a couple of days of being in the hospital. However, she wasn't allowed to continue with her treatment for the next few days. This is so she could have time to try and fight the rest of the infection that she could fight off by herself.

She felt incredibly guilty about having scared her parents like that. It seemed as though everything was turning down hill as soon as she started feeling better. Though she still had that bit of discomfort in her cough and random nausea from time to time, she thought it meant she was getting back to normal. She was even getting better at talking to Enid. She would now sometimes try to text her or call her first.

It made her wonder if anyone had forgotten about her at Nevermore. She wouldn't be surprised if some people did. Despite her best efforts, she began to forget who she was. There were times when she felt as if she wasn't real. There was a feeling that she was a feather floating in the air waiting for some random kid to catch it and take it home. Sometimes she questioned whether living was really worth it.

Sometimes when she's sitting out on the roof to clear her mind she thinks about how easy it would be to jump off. She had always wanted to fly. Dragons fly, she loves dragons. They were big and scary. Anyone would faint at the sight of one. Anyone but her. She hoped that she would be able to fly one day.

Flying is like letting go of all your problems in one go. She wished she could do that but she knew she couldn't. She had too many people to take care of in this cruel world. Like Enid... oh and Pugsley as well.

She carefully got down from her bed and the cold air hit her in a flash. She slowly walked on the cold floor and out of her room and into the bathroom in the hallway since for some reason she didn't deserve her own bathroom. She walked in without closing the door since she was just going to be brushing her teeth anyway. She grabbed her tooth brush, adding a glob of toothpaste on it before putting it into her mouth. While she tried to brush her teeth she felt excruciating pain from... mouth sores again. This time she couldn't help but let some tears out.

But it wasn't just tears of pain it was also tears of exhaustion and frustration.

And to her delight, her mom had walked by. And just like that she knew in a instant that her mother had seen her hunched over the sink with her eyes full of tears.

"What's wrong dear?" Her mom asked standing in the doorway

"I can't brush my teeth" she muttered through her tears. She knew this was something stupid to cry about but at this moment she was completely burned out. The slightest things make her emotional for no reason. It's like when she's on her period and she gets mad at almost every affluent inconvenience but this time she gets emotional all because of this stupid illness.

Her mother understood that the situation wasn't just about not being able to brush her teeth. It was like last time when she had gotten the terrible pain in her leg.

"Okay let's try something that hurts much less than this brush shall we? I can tell that it must hurt very much" her mom said walking over to her and taking the brush out of her hand.

She turned around to call out the hall "Gomez!"

In a second Gomez came into the bathroom noticing his little raven tear filled cheeks. His heart shattered at the sight of his little girl crying over something that never seemed to affect her. He still remembers how sick she looked the night she came knocking on their door urgently.

"What is it that my little raven needs?" He asked

She held up Wednesday's tooth brush before explaining "this brush is way too rough could you possibly get a softer brush like the soft one they got at the store?" she said.

"Of course, I'll be back in a bit" he said before running down the hallway and down the stairs quickly.

She helped Wednesday on top of the sink counter so they could see each other eye to eye.

"What a way to say I'm short" she murmurs, her cheeks now stained with dry tears.

"I'm sorry but it's a pain to have to keep looking down at you. At some point I'm going to have to start getting a neck brace to keep my neck from flopping down" her mom said with a small smile

"Haha so funny" she said sending her mom a deadly glare

"Okay I'm sorry" her mom said rubbing her shoulder affectionately

Wednesday knew she would one hundred percent regret this but she knew her mom could use a hug. Because it's not like she needed one, yeah she's perfectly fine. She just knew her mother needed one right now. She held her arms out slightly. Her mom immediately accepted the hug.

Once they let go of each other Wednesday was having trouble looking her mom in the eyes due to embarrassment. Luckily her dad came in with the new toothbrush and handed it over to her mom, giving her a kiss before leaving the two alone. It was in colorful packaging and it was in the shape of a banana. There is no way she's that weak to the point where she has to use a damn baby tooth brush.

"Open up"

"Um I can do it myself."

"No you can't now open."

"Ugh whatever I didn't feel like brushing my own teeth anyway" she said before opening her mouth so her mom could brush her teeth.

Her mom grabbed her chin at a steady angle. Despite the fact that the toothbrush was shaped like a banana and was made for babies, she loved it. The bristles on this toothbrush were much softer than her other toothbrush. But her mom still made sure to brush carefully.

"And... done" her mom said helping her down from the sink counter so she could spit. When she spat out there was a bit of blood mixed in with her spit, but since she brushed her teeth she thought of this as a powerful win.
