Wednesday had once again gone back to her usual treatment. She took her blood test in the morning before going into the actual treatment. There was a feeling that her life was too good to be true, and she knew that. And that was proven when she got her blood test results back.

"We won't be able to continue with your treatment today" the doctor said "it seems that you have caught signs of a virus. We need you to get rid of the virus before you can proceed with your next dose of chemo"

Wednesday's eyes grew wide

"But I don't feel any symptoms?" She said

"We can't take the risk, I apologize," the doctor said. "Luckily, your white blood cell count does seem to be much better than the last time you came here for an infection. You can definitely treat this at home, but please make sure to contact us if she has a fever. We'll be postponing your treatment for the rest of the week. Thus, you can technically come back on Tuesday of next week for your treatment, and hopefully you will be granted the all clear afterwards."

Her dad who was with her this morning didn't seem to take this information well since he was anxiously stroking his mustache.

And another person who did seem to take this information well was Enid. Enid was supposed to video call her while she was having her infusion. However, when Wednesday picked up her call she was surprised to see Wednesday up in her room. And like expected Enid had started panicking after Wednesday had explained everything.

"This is all my fault, I kissed you!" Enid said "I knew it would have been too dangerous ugh" she raised her hands up to her face.

"I could've gotten the virus from anything.... but it was most likely from you"

"Wow what a wonderful way to comfort me Wednesday" Enid said as she stuffed her face into her pillow.

"Sorry" she muttered

"If it makes you feel better, the kiss was one of the most pleasurable moments in my entire life. I enjoyed it and I'm really glad it happened" she said genuinely

This caused Enid to come out of her panic state and a shy smile appeared onto her face instead.

"You enjoyed it? Does that mean..Well... now that we've kissed does that mean- would you like to..."

Enid couldn't seem to get out her words. So Wednesday had to help her.

"Do we consider ourselves romantic partners?" She paused for a moment before answering, "Yes, I think we might qualify as such."

The way Enid smiled at her made all her worries about their relationship go away.

"Just so you know I'm going to call you my girlfriend now. Omg it feels so good to finally be able to call you my girlfriend" Enid beamed

Enid then returned to a serious look

"Are you sure you're alright though?" She asked worriedly

"Yeah I'm fine. This is just like my normal chemo breaks but just longer which is way better"

Wednesday said that in order to reassure Enid, but she knew that it wasn't good for her to have her treatment postponed.

___________________________________________

She sat in the living room with her parents that night. She was on the couch next to her mom as she was reading a novel. It was unusual for her to be out of her room at this time and her parents noted this unusual behavior. But the only reason she was out of her room this late is because she felt a sense of comfort being near her parents which for some reason she needed right now.

Her dad quickly returned to the bedroom to go to bed since it was past eleven o'clock at this point. Although she desperately wanted to stay up to finish her novel, she was nodding off so much that she barely managed to read a full sentence. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to focus on the words. The situation frustrated her, but she was too tired to fight with herself. Her body craved sleep.

"What's wrong dear? You seem to have something on your mind?" Her mom spoke softly towards her

Wednesday was once again alert to her surroundings when her mom spoke suddenly. She set her book down before looking at her mom.

"I don't want to fall asleep" she said quietly

"Why what's wrong?"

"I..don't know" she said bringing her legs up to her chest and hugging them

Morticia's face softened

"It's okay not to know dear... are you feeling scared perhaps?" her mom asked.

Wednesday felt too embarrassed to talk but she nodded agreeingly

"Is it because of what happened last time?"

Wednesday nodded again because she was too embarrassed to say anything.

"Wanna talk about it? Maybe it will help you feel less scared about falling asleep"

"No" she muttered out

There was a pause of silence before Morticia tried to change the subject looking over at her with a curious smile.

"How did things turn out with Enid?" She remembered seeing them walk downstairs to dinner hand in hand and couldn't help but ask

Wednesday felt her cheeks warm

"What do you mean?" she asked, trying to play it off as if nothing significant had happened.

But her mom obviously saw right through her

"Didn't you get the chance to discuss it this weekend?"

The memories of what happened that day came back to her. She could feel the fluttering sensation in her stomach again. Her lips were so soft. She couldn't help but smile at the memory, embarrassed, she looked away her smile still visibly showing.

"There may have been a development in our relationship toward something more affectionate."

Her mom was overjoyed

"I'm so happy for you dear!" Her mom smiled "it seems like things are starting to turn out better for you"

"Your Uncle Fester owes me so much money" her mom muttered out
