Ever since Wednesday spied on her parents that night she hasn't been acting the same around them. She wasn't so impudent and her voice wasn't so monotone around them anymore. She even allowed herself to be seen as weak around them. But her parents never found out the reason why she had been acting like this. They still didn't know that she had been spying on them that night.

What surprised them most though is when Wednesday came into their room, her hair was a mess. It looked like she had not brushed it for years. And she seemed extremely tired. But they knew this would happen due to the side effects of her second cycle of chemo. She couldn't do her hair because it was thinning. A gentle tug could pull a chunk out instantly so she couldn't put her hair in braids anymore or brush it.

People would suspect her to be upset that she was losing her beautiful long hair but she wasn't. She loved the idea of going bald. That only being because her favorite person in the whole world was bald. Uncle Fester. Who wasn't at home at the moment but he told her that he would be home tomorrow night.

She walked over to her parents' bed and curled up in between them pulling the covers over herself now being squished in between her parents.

Her parents were shocked and looked at each other before greeting their little raven.

"Good morning dear" her mom says smiling before pressing a kiss on her head

"Morning my little raven" her dad said as he scooted over to give her a little bit more room.

All of the emotion her mom and dad let out the other night were gone, not a single trace of it at all. Wednesday knew how much pain she had caused them. It was all her fault. And she couldn't go back to not knowing all the pain she had been causing her parents. She had now all of a sudden gotten a higher amount of respect for her parents than she had before. They must be really proficient at keeping their emotions in a way that allowed them to function well just so that her needs are met.

She didn't mind all the affection her parents were giving her. Just like how she wouldn't be able to forget the pain she caused her parents and herself. That night was the most loneliest she had ever felt. Ever. And for the first time in her life she felt the desire to be close to her parents. The unpleasant knot in her stomach seemed to go away now that she was with them.

She was now comfortable enough to fall back into sleep for a moment, her head lying down on her mom's shoulder as she fell into the deep darkness of her brain.

She woke up to her dad on his phone humming and her mom flipping through a magazine.

"Oh! You're awake. I'll be back so I can give you your medication."

After a bit he came up with two pills and a bottle of water.

She picked up the pill and tried to say thank you but her voice was too rough. Like Ariel from The Little Mermaid, her voice seemed to be taken away. Her dad seemed to take the hint of what she was trying to convey and said you're welcome before getting back into bed.

She put one pill into her mouth and swallowed it, but immediately regretted it. She winced when she swallowed the pill because her throat hurt awfully. Her eyes became watery instinctively.

"I'm sorry it's hurting you but you need to swallow dear" her mom said looking at her. Her eyes were full of sorrow.

"Okay how about we try some water?" her dad said handing her the bottle of water.

Her mother unscrewed the cap for her before she took a sip of water. Every time she swallowed it, it caused her eyes to become watery. It felt like there was a burning sensation in the back of her throat and neck.

"I can't" she croaked out her eyes still watery making it extremely difficult for her to see

"Is it your throat?" Her father asked.

He received a nod back.

"I'll call the hospital" he said looking around the room then remembering her left his phone downstairs quickly rushing down to make the call.

Wednesday soon found herself back in the hospital during what was supposed to be her short break from chemo. She normally had 4 times out of the week but of course it got ruined. She wasn't too thrilled to be returning back. However, she was eager to get her throat to stop hurting so much. This was so she could finally swallow.

When they finally got called in by her doctor. Dr. Martinez led them into the examination room so he could check what was up with Wednesday.

"Thankfully it's nothing too serious like an infection but her throat is severely inflamed which means we will have to be giving her a feeding tube" her doctor said while looking down at his clipboard "I'll also be prescribing you anti-inflamation pills, you can pick those up later at your local pharmacy"

"A feeding tube?" Her dad asked her doctor

"Yes we will be giving her an NG-tube also known as a nasogastric tube which is a small flexible tube that is passed through the nose, down the esophagus and into the stomach" he explains. "This will help you get food, drinks, and those pills down into your stomach without having to painfully swallow" he adds.

Both Morticia and Gomez liked the sound of this, especially since they had been worrying about how to get Wednesday to eat.

They were sent to a different floor so she could get her feeding tube inserted. They waited for what felt like hours until they had finally been called in.

When they got called in a nurse brought them into a room where the doctor was preparing things for her. The nurse left while the doctor told her to sit down on the gurney. The doctor measured the tube against her chest and stomach to find out how long he had to make the tube. Once he got the right measurements he cut the tube so he was ready to insert it into her nose.

In normal circumstances, I would have you drink some water but since you're having trouble swallowing it won't do. And your esophagus is pretty swollen so I apologize if it becomes difficult to insert the tube." said the doctor.

She looked over at her mom who seemed to be nervous. She opened her hand and held it out for her hand to grab her mom grabbed her hand quickly. It was only to comfort her mom and only her it's not like she needed to be comforted of anything.

She tilted her head back slightly so the doctor could insert the tube through her nostril. The feeling was weird and uncomfortable. She could feel the tubes every move. And thank goodness they didn't have much trouble putting it in. However, she did have to try her best to push back the urge to vomit. She pulled her thoughts away from the unpleasant sensation in her throat and tried to focus on writing ideas.

Eventually, the tube was in after what seemed like a long wait. The doctor wanted to make sure that it was in the right place so he took a bit of her stomach fluid out with a small syringe. In order to keep the tube in place, he grabbed skin colored tape and attached it to the tube and her skin.

The doctor then started to explain how to use the feeding tube and what kind of things they could give her through it. The doctor then proceeded on to show her parents how to put her medication through the tube.

When they got back home she walked back to her room immediately feeling the unpleasant knot in her stomach returning. In any case, she just brushed it off.

The feeding tube felt weird to have in but her doctor told her that she would get used to it in a couple of days or hours. She didn't like the way she looked with it on though. It was so noticeable, it was just another way to show people that she was weak. Though she only had one mirror in her room she walked over to turn it around not wanting to see her reflection. She didn't want to see how ugly she looked. All weak and pathetic.
