When they were finally able to leave the hospital Wednesday felt a sense of relief from making it through another treatment. And what was even better is that Enid would be staying over for the night before she had to go back to Nevermore in the morning. She would never do it out loud but she felt the urge to squeal which was weird.

There seemed to be a comfortable atmosphere between the two girls. When Enid was around, she experienced a sense of calm that made everything seem completely normal. She loved being around Enid. She just hoped Enid liked being around her as well because she didn't want to make her uncomfortable in any way.

As for Enid she felt like she could breathe more normally now that she was with Wednesday. At Nevermore it felt like every time she would breathe through the tiny hole in a lollipop stick. The lollipop stick seemed to disappear when she was near Wednesday.

It's like when you attempt to drink dirty pond water without a filter and there are all types of things in there. However, with a water filter it stops all the dirty things from going into into water keeping it clear and clean.

Wednesday was her water filter.

She had also started to love the Addams family even more than she did before. She noticed that Pugsley seemed to be in sorrowful mood seeing his sister suffering once again. So she did what she also did best. Cheer people up. She suggested they play a game together. His spirits immediately lifted at the fact that Wednesday's friend wanted to spend time with him. He ran up to his room grabbing the game operation. Rather than buzzing, the board game would shock you instead. Which didn't seem like an excellent idea to Enid but she was the one who suggested to play a game so there was no backing out now.

She was doing a great job getting the small items out until she finally got shocked. This caused her to jerk violently letting out a short yelp sitting crisscross apple sauce on the floor. But her reaction was worth it when she heard a small chuckle coming from the couch. She looked up to see Wednesday watching them with a book in her hand. Pugsley laughed at her reaction. Enid watched as Wednesday looked at him with a particular softness in her beautiful eyes. Though Wednesday would never say it out loud Enid knew she truly cared deeply for her brother.

By the time it was evening the two girls moved upstairs. Wednesday walked to the closest in the hallway to grab the inflatable mattress that Enid would be sleeping on while she stayed in her room. But to her luck her physical strength was terrible. It was almost like when a fawn is born it takes seven hours to start walking. She tugged and tugged at the box the mattress was in but it just wouldn't budge. This caused her arms to tremble at all the pressure. Once Enid noticed she was struggling she walked over and effortlessly picked the box up like it was like a feather.

They both walked into her room. As Enid set the box down with a smile her eyes met Wednesday's.

"Show off" she mumbled as her eyes showed a smile

They were about to start getting the mattress ready to blow up but Wednesday had started to become a bit light headed from standing up for too long but she didn't want to have to make her guest do the bed all by herself.

Though she thought Enid wouldn't notice, she obviously did. Enid watched as her pale frame walked over to the box taking the unflatted mattress out along with the pump. Though she couldn't see her face she knew she was tired and needed to rest. She didn't need her help in inflating the mattress anyway. She'd slept on them many times before and she knew how to make her bed so she could easily do this by herself.

"Wednesday it okay I've got it" she softly said grabbing the hand Wednesday had reached out to grab the pump to turn it on

It was only a slight stiffening that she felt on Wednesday. In spite of the hand holding, she feared she would dislike it. But then she remembered the times Wednesday had turned down her hugs when they first met each other. So if Wednesday didn't really want to hold her hand she would have already taken it back.

She analyzed her face, which had become grumpier than its usual blank expression.

"But it's rude to make you do all the work as my guest" she said

"Wednesday it's okay, you're tired and I'm not so just go to your bed and relax I'm experienced with blow up mattresses"

"But lying around all day makes me even more useless" she mumbled

"No not useless" she told her. "I want you to rest so you can get better quicker. And trying to get to bed takes a lot of work and it's never thought of as useless so get to bed" she said lifting Wednesday's chin to make sure she was actually listening to what she was saying. As she had requested, she followed her orders and walked over to her bed, where she was lying. If she told herself back when she first met Wednesday that she would be able to boss her around she would not believe herself one bit.

Once she finished inflating the mattress and putting the blanket and pillow on it she turned around to see Wednesday under her covers shivering slightly.

"Are you cold?" She asked worriedly

"It'll pass don't worry" Wednesday said trying to reassure her which was true because one minute she would be cold and the next she would be sweating buckets.

But it didn't reassure her enough so she told Wednesday that she would be back in a minute.

Wednesday watched as Enid left the room and entered the hallway. She couldn't stop thinking about when Enid held her hand earlier. It felt magical. Her stomach fluttered at the thought of it. And the way Enid lifted her chin definitely did something to her.

She watched as Enid walked in with a big blanket and draping it over her.

"You didn't have to do this" she said feeling ashamed

"I know but you have to understand that I'm not doing this because I need to it's because I want to" she said with a smile before sitting down beside her on the bed

She looked at the clock on Wednesday's wall noticing that the day would end soon. She felt her heart ache at the thought of having to say goodbye to Wednesday once again. Every time she had to say goodbye, it became increasingly difficult every time. She didn't want to leave her. She felt her mouth open on its own and before she could stop herself she spoke her mind.

"Is it warm enough for you? Or do you need me to warm you?" she inquired.

When Wednesday realized what she had said, her eyes widened. She asked to share a bed with her.

And to her shock she felt her face become warm. And it wasn't just because she was unknowingly in love with Enid, it was also because she felt gross at the moment. This was not because of Enid.

It's not that she didn't like the thought of sharing a bed with her; in fact, quite the opposite actually. But with her thoughts of Enid and thinking about how their friendship could go further but this is not at all how she wanted their first time sharing a bed with her. And she definitely didn't want to tell Enid about her terrible night sweats she got after her treatment.

Enid felt her hesitation

"We don't have to!" She said with a mortified look on her face. "I don't even know why I asked in the first place I-"

"It's okay Enid!" Wednesday said quickly cutting her off "it sounds perfectly enjoyable it's just that... when I'm better okay" she said.

"Of course" she said flustered

The dark brown eyes of Wednesday met Enid's before she had been able to stand up and move to her bed. Wednesday pulled her into a tight hug closing her eyes. She felt the bright girl calm down and felt her return the hug with the same energy.

Enid felt ashamed at the fact that she was practically craving the girl. The girl was sick and there was no way she was looking to get into a relationship at the moment. She usually tells people when she has a crush on them but for Wednesday it was different. She felt like she couldn't tell her because she was overly nervous and the respect she had for the girl was strong. And she definitely didn't want to ruin their friendship if Wednesday didn't return the same feelings.

She was in love with Wednesday, but she knew she didn't love her back.
