We arrived at the hospital just a few minutes before her appointment so her mother would have enough time to sign her in. They walked into the hospital before going into the waiting room. She opted for her favorite seat in the back while her mother turned to do the paperwork to sign her in. Although the chairs were still hard as a brick, she would rather sit on the floor, but it was filthy and full of tiny microorganisms at the same time. Her mother walked back over to her with a clipboard and the paperwork so she could do it sitting down. There was a TV on the wall with the news on but it didn't grab her attention.

What caught her attention was the kids playing with toys in the corner. They all looked so young. Too young. They looked like they were all under the age of 7. At the age of 7 she was running around and trying to drown her brother. Well maybe not drowning, but playing outside and not being stuck inside with illness is what they should be doing. She had been so stuck in her thoughts that she didn't even know the doctor had called them in.

"Good morning" Dr. Bradley said smiling.

He was always far too kind for her liking

"So today we'll be talking about the bone marrow results" he said flipping through her file "Okay, so it seems we did find cancer in the bone marrow" he said taking a breath "what you seem to have is B-cell stage 2 of acute lymphoblastic leukemia also known as ALL which is a type of blood cancer that affects the white blood cells"

Morticia took a breath she didn't even know she was holding. She knew that stage 2 wasn't so high but it still could be very serious.

"So stage two isn't too bad right?" She asked him

"You guys were lucky to catch it on so early, it could've gotten pretty severe if you guys had found about this months after" he said closing the file "and I'm willing to be honest here, just before you got onto the internet to surch up about her illness. Which I know you will do. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is serious and there is a very high chance she could beat it. Just remember that Wednesday is still young which gives her a higher chance of overcoming it."

"Okay so she should be fine, right?" she asked.

"I can't promise you that but like I said try and focus on the fact that Wednesday is still young and has more access to advanced medication which makes her chances higher" he answers her questions.

He looked over at Wednesday.

"We will start with the most effective treatment and hope that it will be able to make you better"

She nodded still taking in all the information about her illness.

"What treatment will she be receiving?" her mother asked, hoping it would not be painful.

"Well for the first month of treatment we will be trying to get rid of the leukemia cells in the bone marrow so that the normal bone marrow cells return, and the blood counts return to normal levels. We want this type of chemo to last for at least a month but it could go higher than that" he answered.

He looked ahead at Wednesday again.

"I understand that you are currently living in a boarding school right?" He asks her

"You are not intending to make me leave are you? Cause I have grown quite fond of the place" she said.

"Unfortunately, you will have to be taken to the doctors regularly, and you will need to rest in a quiet place and it will be very dangerous for you to be out somewhere where you could risk yourself getting very sick. So I'm sorry but you are going to have to move back in with your parents" he said "will that be a problem?"

Of course it would be a problem. Once she started liking the place, she had to leave.

"No of course it's not a problem" her mother reassured him, "I'm willing to do anything to help out my Wednesday"
