Now that she had gained back some energy, she decided to use it wisely and shave her head. It's not that she didn't like her hair any more, it's just that with only a few hairs on her head it was clear that she was weak in some way. She also hated the fact that when she woke up there would always be hair on her pillow. So the hair gotta go.

She turned around to go look for her dad who was in the kitchen making something since it was almost lunch.

"Dad" she said quietly

"Yes my little raven?" The knife was put down by him before he turned to face her.

"I want you to shave my head" she said meeting his eyes

Her dad seemed to become emotional when she asked him. However, he also had a hint of happiness because she had asked him to do such an important job. He dropped everything he was doing at that moment so he could shave her head.

He made her sit down on an old stool in the bathroom as he pulled out an electric razor out from a drawer. He stood behind her with a razor in his hand as he hesitated to shave her head.

"Carry on! Are you afraid I'll look hideous?" She asked him when he hesitated

"No dear I think you'd look amazing in any hairstyle" he said with a smile

"I agree but I have enjoyed looking more dead with this hair" she joked

Her dad's smile disappeared and a small lump formed in his throat

"Wednesday, please don't use that word" he said in a serious voice, "I can't stand to think about you in that way"

"My apologies" she mumbled

"Okay let's do this" he said turning the razor on

The process took a while but she was finally bald.

"Wanna take a look in the mirror?" Her dad asked her

"No I'm alright " she said feeling her now bald head

She still hadn't seen her reflection in the mirror. She knew she looked hideous. Her eyelashes fell out a while ago and so did her eyebrows. She didn't bother to look at herself.

"Alright then, you can leave now. I'll stay and clean up the mess" he said kissing her head before leaving to grab a vacuum and a broom.

She walked out of the bathroom and headed up to her room where thing was on her phone and on a call with Enid. Why was he on the phone with Enid? She desperately wanted to talk to Enid but she didn't want to show that she was desperate. She walked over to her desk where her typewriter was.

She thought and thought but her ideas never came. It's like they have all vanished away with all of the medicine she was receiving. Guess there's no point in having a typewriter anymore. She sat there at her desk frustrated with herself, holding her head in her hands.

Thing threw the phone over to her.

"Don't do that thing you are gonna break it" she hissed

She turned the phone over and was met by Enid who was still on the call.

Enid broke out into a smile when she saw Wednesday's new hairdo.

"You look so cute!" Enid said "I love it!"

Wednesday tried to hide the small smile that was forming on her lips, but she couldn't help it. It felt like her heart was doing somersaults. She just hoped Enid couldn't see her cheeks slightly redden on the video.

What did Enid mean by cute though? Is she going to ask her what she meant by that? No. Well not yet; she wanted to gain more courage before she would ask her.

______________________________________________

Her usual treatment had been resumed after Wednesday had recovered from the previous incident. However they were informed that her immune system had become low and that they needed to watch her very carefully in case something were to happen. However, her parents took watching her to a completely different level. They had her take her temperature at least four times a day between her treatments. But four times a day didn't seem enough for her parents. They seemed to want to shove the thermometer into her mouth after every second had passed.

Wednesday knew that catching an infection could be seriously dangerous. But luckily she hadn't been infected with any since her treatment started. Which made her less worried about catching one. She thought catching an infection wouldn't actually happen.

Till it did.

It was a couple of days after she had shaved her head and received a blood transfusion. It was the night after she had finished her usual treatment. She woke up in the middle of the night trembling more than she normally would after her treatments. Sure she would usually tremble when feeling incredibly nauseous but this was different. Way different. Parts of her body ached uncomfortably including her neck. It felt as if her body was trying to warn her that something was wrong.

She lay as still in her bed as she could till she realized she had to check her temperature to make sure this wasn't something serious. She looked over at her bedside table where she had last left the thermometer.

She slowly pulled her arms out of her covers. The air in her room felt incredibly cold. It hit her arm like a painful set of needles. She attempted to grab the thermometer but her hands could barely grip it. Her hands felt fuzzy.

Once she finally got the thermometer in her hands she quickly placed it into her mouth almost making herself throw up in the process. She waited unpatiently for the thermometer to beep. After what felt like hours it finally beeped. She pulled it out of her mouth and looked at the number. Her eyes widened as it read 108.2. Oh shit that's not good.

She didn't know what to do. She looked over at the clock on her bedside table. It read 1:26. Everyone in her family is for sure asleep at the moment. She hated the idea of having to wake them up. Especially when it was something three year olds would do when they accidentally peed themselves in bed cause they saw a toilet in their dream and decided to use it. Rule number one: Never dream of using a toilet in your dreams.

She had never gone to wake her parents up at night. She also wasn't used to having to ask them for help.

Nope she's not asking her parents for help. She just decided to wait until the morning to solve the problem.

She slipped back under her covers to try and keep warm. She tried to fall asleep, but she was unable to do so. Maybe it's the terrible ache in her entire body that won't go away including the terrible shivering.

She convinced herself that she could wait until the morning.
