Beca and Chloe had been dating for 3 years now, ever since graduation. They had plans to move to Brooklyn with Amy, but Chloe didn't think she could stand living with Beca any longer without confessing her feelings. Luckily, Beca felt the same way and the rest was history. This summer, Beca took Chloe out to Seattle where her mom lives.

"Girls, could you help me set the table?" Beca's mom shouted from the kitchen. She was fixing dinner for their first night in town.

"Coming!" Beca replied from upstairs.

"My moms cooking is... well, it's bad. Just pretend you like it and we can go out to grab dinner later." Beca whispered to Chloe as they ran down the stairs.

"Oh stop it, Beca. I'm sure your mom's cooking is just fine." Chloe grinned.

Beca threw her hands in the air to say "I warned you." They continued their way to the kitchen and began to set the table for three.

"It smells delicious, Ms. Mitchell." Chloe beamed.

"Please, call me Lily." She said. Chloe noticed she had that same awkward smile Beca had.

The three sat down for their dinner, and Chloe was eager to chat with Lily. She wanted to know all of the embarrassing details from Beca's childhood. Mainly because she knew it would make Beca embarrassed, which was one of Chloe's favorite things to do.

"She actually made you pick her up from camp because of a bee sting?" Chloe snickered after hearing a story from when Beca was seven at camp.

"Shut up, Beale!" Beca said, her face flushing red.

"It's true, it's true. But my little Beca has become so much tougher since then." Lily said, giving Beca a little nudge.

"Mommm." Beca pleaded. She hated being the center of attention, but her mom loved to praise her.

"I'm just so proud of you. You've done so much, and now you're even moving to LA. Just like you always dreamed to do." Lily continued.

Beca's smile dropped, and Chloe swore she saw all of the color in her face wash away. Chloe had a similar reaction, but a bit more confused.

Beca kicked her mom's foot under the table to stop her from saying any more.

"I saw that, Beca. You're moving?" Chloe asked softly.

"Let's just eat." Beca replied, avoiding all eye contact with Chloe.

"I'm not hungry. Excuse me, Ms. Mitchell." Chloe said as she got up from the table. She practically stomped upstairs, ignoring all of Lily's apologies.

"I, uh, you know." Beca stuttered to her mom before following Chloe to her room upstairs.

Chloe had shut the door, so Beca knocked twice before coming in.

"I want to be alone." Chloe said.

"It is my room, Chlo." Beca said with a halfhearted laugh.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Chloe said, clearly on the brink of tears.

"I wanted to wait for the right time." Beca said, taking a seat next to Chloe on the bed.

"There isn't a right time for that sort of thing. You just have to tell me so we can figure out how to make it work. You know, the distance and all." Chloe said.

"I just didn't want to do it before this trip." Beca explained.

"What difference does it make?" Chloe said frustratedly.

Beca looked away, unsure of what to say next. She didn't have to worry too long, because Chloe chimed in again soon after.

"Oh god! You were going to break up with me when you told me! Weren't you?" Chloe said.
