Cabin Trip

Beca and Chloe broke up a few months ago, but it hasn't been easy. Neither girl has fully gotten over one another, but that's the last thing they would ever admit. Chloe's been going on countless tinder dates for the past month, while Beca has met a few people at the bar. The most recent girl Beca picked up was named Zoe. They weren't exclusive, but they had gone on a lot of dates together. Beca knew it was nearing the time to make them official, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Chloe was beyond jealous over the whole thing, which only drove her to find more one-night-stands. That made Beca jealous, making her want to parade around Zoe even more. It was an endless cycle neither were aware of.

This weekend, Aubrey invited the Bellas up to the campground she had been working at. Every year she gets one free stay at the campground suite, a huge cabin on the lakefront. Aubrey also said the girls could bring their partner since there were plenty of bedrooms. Beca had no intentions of bringing Zoe so soon into their fling, but that was until Chloe came home the other night. Right about when Aubrey was asking for the final head count for the weekend, Chloe burst in the door hanging off of another woman. Beca and Chloe hadn't yet found their own places, so they were still sharing a tiny apartment in Brooklyn with Amy. Chloe made no effort to tone it down when she saw Beca, and it was clearly on purpose. Beca knew that Chloe knew exactly what she was doing right then. Chloe and the girl made their way to the bedroom, kissing the whole way there as if they couldn't wait. Beca was fuming by this point, and she immediately realized how to get payback. She texted the group chat right then that she would be bringing Zoe on the getaway. After that, she called Zoe to make sure the plan was secure, which it was.

Chloe didn't see the text until the next morning, but she was pissed. The girl from the night before had already left, so Chloe took the liberty of confronting Beca. She marched into the living room where Beca was still on the couch.

"You're bringing her?" Chloe asked in a judgmental tone.

"Jealous much?" Beca replied, not even glancing up from her laptop.

"Just didn't think you guys were that serious." Chloe said in a quieter voice.

Beca knew she had hurt Chloe a bit with the news, but that was kind of her intention.

"Well, we are." Beca responded dryly.

Chloe pursed her lips, holding back whatever snide remark was about to blurt out. She turned back to her room and shut the door, ending the conversation much quicker than she had imagined.

On the day of the trip, Chloe barely spoke two words to Beca. Ever since Zoe was invited, the two had been in a weird standoff with each other. Beca spent a couple nights at Zoe's, and Chloe didn't bother reaching out much. Beca was waiting for Chloe to break the silence, since she was always more direct anyways. Zoe picked Beca up around noon to leave, and Chloe and Amy had left around ten that morning.

After the hour drive to the lake, Zoe and Beca finally arrived. The rest of the girls were already settled in and getting ready for a swim when they got there.

"You made it!" Aubrey exclaimed as they pulled in. The girls had all come outside to greet them, even Chloe.

"We almost didn't with her driving!" Beca teased, pointing to Zoe.

Chloe rolled her eyes at their little banter. She liked to think that she couldn't care less about how Beca was acting around Zoe, but she truly was jealous more than anything.

After unpacking, Zoe and Beca joined the rest of the girls on their swim. The day was spent on the water, and they didn't head inside until almost 8pm.

"Who's down for burgers?" Beca asked the group. One of her favorite hobbies was cooking, so she often offered to cook for her friends.

The girls replied with nods and "yes" simultaneously. Except for Chloe who just shrugged her shoulders.
