All hell broke loose at the bottom of the building, the people running around looking for their friends and the heros trying to extinguish the raging fire.

"This is horrible, the flames are too strong and hot. At this rate the whole building is going to turn to ashes." The firefighters on the verge of giving up when the police also arrived. Everyone working together to prevent a bigger chaos. Mirko and Eraser worriedly went up to All might who was sitting at the curb. Heavy tension lingered in the air, they just wished for it to be over already. It was a suprise that apparently no one got hurt because of how well the heros went with the panic and chaos.

They looked at each other, knowing who did all of this.

"So, where did Hawks go?" Big flakes of ashes fell upon their heads, they just sat there while the rest also evacuated the surrounding area. The building might collapse because of the damage but they didn't care, they needed to wait for Hawks.

"I'm guessing he went to look for any more people in help. That crazy guy."

...

The way Dabi stood inside the flames burnt itself into his memories. He could always just fly away and leave but no, this needed to be done.

His fear of fire was still apparent though, he could feel it. Hawks body and mind went absolute ballistic trying to process the happening in front of him. Maybe the exposure to Shoto helped him a bit? Otherwise he would be trembling and crying now.

"So, little hero. Or do you want me to say villain?" Dabi grimaced, taking a step forward and lifting up his hand. Pointing it to where Hawks was standing. This time he would not hesitate for good. And maybe Hawks still believed Dabi would not hurt him again, well, he was wrong?

And he was proven wrong the moment blue flames shot right at him, again, he dodged now being able to fly.

The blonde grit his teeth so bad his jaw ached, flying up and landing on Dabis left side. Now he put on his glasses to prevent the heat of fire drying his eyes out. I cannot even afford to blink, he'd burn me right on the spot!

"What do you mean 'villain'?" Hawks barely had time to ask a question before dodging again, his body was already tired but adrenaline pushed him to the edge.

"Don't need to know, you better tell me how you plan on capturing me while drunk dumbass."

" 'm not drunk anymore, just a little tipsy still you-" his coordination seemend just a little off, causing him to actually get hit with a flash of fire on his lower side. He shook his leg in panic, then realizing how nothing had happened. He was not on fire?

My clothes, oh my god im fireproof, right!

Just his clothers were but that didn't matter, now he just had to defeat Dabi before his wings were getting fried off. Or maybe before his tired body gave in.

Hawks thought he needed a plan, a really good one. C'mon, what would Midoriya do now? Be smart!

The blonde kept dodging, praying that the heros down there didn't notice the unusual fire balls inbetween the other flames. Maybe he should have kept Eraser on the roof but somehow, he felt the need to do it himself. Definitely because he had a personal problem with the villain. "You gonna keep dodging? Good because i can go all night babyboy."

Hawks didn't realize it was him repeating the lyrics of the song he had performed at home, not yet, his mind was too distracted.

He just yelled "Fuck you" and let a feather drop off his wings, it falling to the ground as if it randomly fell off. Keeping it there in case his plan didn't work. "I can handle you," his words just spluttered out, now angrily staring at the fire quirk user.

Now!

The hero knew it'd be very dangerous, since Dabi was way too unpredictable for things like this but he had to give it a try. Dodging another attack was hard but then he landed right in front of Dabis nose.

He forced himself to calm down and stare right into Dabis eyes, not moving an inch. Not saying a word.

As expected, the villain was startled. A bold move, really.

Hawks grabbed both of Dabis wrists, his gloves protecting his hands from the fire Dabi released to get free. It was hot standing so close, he could feel the fabric of his clothes starting to give in. But he still did not let go, just taking the pain in and keeping his eyes open so he could read the others expression. "You're still holding back Dabi, i know you can produce flames anywhere on your body and not just your hands." He coughed, "Why?" the fire too hot for him to breathe properly.

When it just stopped.

Dabi stopped releasing any fire and stared down at his hands in Hawks. The rage inside of him slowly dying down.

He lifts his gaze and only then realizes how close Hawks actually was, how defeated he actually looked. He could smell a slight hint of booze in his breath and when he looked down again, he saw the badly burned arms of the hero. The tshirt not covering his arms.

The villain would have laughed if he could, but all he could feel was frustration. Frustration because he could no longer bare to see his face like this. This sad smile and the trembling body. The facade of a hero crumbling. Hawks held Dabis hands in a tight grip, refusing to let go. They stood there until the adrenaline went down and the villain knew he only had to wait a few more moments before Hawks passed out and he could escape.

"You..." He started, catching a glimpse of Hawks looking down at their hands too.

It was a very strange moment, weirdly intimate.

Dabi wasn't going to accept it but neither was he going to do something about it. "You're doing it again, i can't believe you really. I-" Hawks closed his eyes shut and exhaled shakily, his body collapsed and the villain knew not to catch him.

But he did.

Dabi cursed under his breath and held the hero in his arms, his heart hanging heavy in his chest. He tried shaking Hawks to wake him up but the blondes body was completely limp. Now he could kill him, he thought.

I need to kill him, i have to.

The villain was truly convinced he was going to end it right here, but one more look into his peaceful face and it was over. The short blonde hairs stood up in every direction and Dabi hated them, he wanted to burn everything on this man but he just couldn't anymore. His hand slipped behind the unconscious heros body to grab the base of his wings, planning on ripping them out but again, his body didn't listen.

He ended up stroking through the feathers, amazed at how soft they were.

Not for long though, he knew he had to go before the firefighters could enter the building so he dragged Hawks body to the edge, leaving him there for reinforcements to find. Also kicking away everything flammable.

He then disappeared into the flames.
