I love you too

The afterlife sure was weird, there was nothing to do except wake up, take walks and see what the other people are doing. Hawks just sat somewhere between flowers and bushes, admiring this new place he got to be at.

'I must admit it gets a little boring here and there, things are too peaceful for my taste.'

'Of course it is, there are no bad guys to fight here.' Dabi popped up into his thoughts, interrupting the former hero in his inner monologue.

Right, they shared thoughts.

How could he forget? Hawks dropped his head back and stared into the sheer nothingness of the universe, thinking: 'Well, at least I'm in heaven with you.He giggled at himself and very soon felt two rough hands holding his shoulders and neck from behind. Dabi had snuck up on him and followed the others gaze into their 'sky'.

"You know just as well that if this were heaven, none of our asses would be here." the former villain held back a chuckle at Hawks offended face.

'Yea, that's true though.'

Both of them exchanged an amused laughter and Dabi finally sat down, quietly eyeing his lover from the side. He knew Hawks was still upset about leaving his friends and his mother, but he would overcome it soon.

There was nothing they could do except watch from above and wait for their next destination.

"Look, they're holding our funeral!" Hawks yelled out and leaned forward, peeking into the opening which connected their world with the earth.

Through this thing they could see how many people were gathered around what seemed like a double casket. Dabi snorted in disbelief "They're burying us like an old married couple."

"Sush, don't ruin this for me." Hawks stared in interest as the ceremony was held. It was a small private one, something you wouldn't have expected from the number two hero passing. The wing hero scoffed.

"Hey, how about we just go. You're just gonna get more upset." Dabi slowly closed the space in between them and pulled Hawks face toward him. The villains personality hadn't changed, but the peaceful feeling of no more rules and hate made him feel at ease constantly. All he wanted to do was relax. Hawks grinned at him saying "Naw, is my boyfriend worried about me?"

At first Dabi was caught off guard by this, a wicked grin spread across his face. "Boyfriend? You never asked me y'know..."

"Are you serious?" Hawks rolled his eyes, no reaction. "Alright then. Oh most feared villain Dabi-"  he was stopped mid sentence.

"C'mon, be serious for once little bird."

Hawks went quiet for a moment, scanning the face of his almost boyfriend. He got carried away just staring at him and wondering about many things. He got a bit shy but still decided to pull through with it.

So he leaned into the other and pulled him into a passionate kiss. Then in a moment in between he cleared his throat and asked "Will you be my boyfriend, Dabi?"

'Ew, so corny.'

'I heard that.' - 'Sorry, but the number two hero asking me to be his boyfriend? Wow.'

Dabi snorted in amusement and was quickly pulled into another suprise kiss. One that was meant to shut him up for good. As soon as their lips parted the villain was focused again, whispering "Yes, of course. I was kidding anyway, you were mine the moment I first set eyes upon you."

A gentle breeze gave them goosebumps, making Hawks pull his wings around them both.

It might have been a little too lovey dovey for the two of them, but it was exactly what they needed. They might as well would have sat there for a few more hours if there hadn't been an interruption.
