you can't kill me

Not long after he had made himself comfortable, stripping off his clothes and sinking into his bathtub. The warm water soothed his aching muscles, the temperature was just right. He wasn't sure for how long he planned on sitting in the tub, but he surely wouldn't get out until the water went cold.

"Hmm..." He groaned and laid back, feeling his wings get soaked in the water. Of course he had a personalised gigantic bathtub, normal tubs couldn't fit his wings so he ordered this one when he realized the amount of money he had was too much.

The tension in his body slowly melted away and his thoughts began to wander. Was it really Dabi watching me through that camera? I'll never know actually, except...

"so little hero, or do you want me to say villain?" He remembered the words Dabi had greeted him with at the rooftop. A cold shiver went down his spine despite sitting in hot water. Things fell into place and he realized what he had meant. "Because i can go all night babyboy."

He even repeated the songlyrics i sang out loud!? Hell no, that's scary and embarrassing.

Hawks gave his best to relax but to no avail, the thought of Dabi watching him do private things all day was making his stomach turn. Still he forced himself to stay in the water. To distract himself he turned on the TV and watched some anime about a black haired guy named Vanitas or something. The series was suprisingly interesting, he couldn't help but get completely drawn in.

Only after an hour he noticed the water getting cold so he turned off the TV and pulled the plug of the tub so the water could drain. The hero had no idea what time it was and just took his time, he couldn't help but feel grateful for this little moment of peace. It was like a chance to unwind from the stress of his life.

When the water had drained he started to clean himself with his favourite rag and also wash his hair, not long after he reluctantly hopped out and dried himself off. Back then when his hair was longer he used to blow dry it, but that wasn't necessary anymore. It was too short.

It only cost him ten more minutes of his time to get dressed and moisturize his face. Looking at his hygienic products he realized he forgot to treat his scars, he didn't want to. It was such a drag. After a long sigh he gives in and takes out the salve and slathers it on his arms, also trying to get some of it on his back. The consistency of it was weird, he didn't like it. Some things just had to be done sadly.

"Ugh, finally." Hawks rolls his eyes and washes the cream off his hands. His plan for the evening was to maybe binge another anime or something similar.

A moment later he had decided to cook himself a nice meal, something he rarely had time for these days. His last meal was barely two hours ago but another one wouldn't hurt. He rummaged through his fridge and pantry, looking for inspiration. Finally, he settled on making a stir fry with fresh vegetables and juicy chicken.

The want to cook something suprised Hawks, he didn't really cook often. He wasn't bad at it by all means, he just didn't seem to like doing it most of the time. Mostly wearing an apron annoyed him but at the same time, he didn't like getting oil on his clothes.

He set to work, chopping up vegetables with practiced ease. The sound of the knife hitting the cutting board was soothing, he wished he could say it reminded him of his mother cooking for him. But she never did. The sound made him remember the maid hired by the hero comission who used to cook for him as a kid, she was a kind woman who always tried to cheer him up.

"Now is not the time to get in your feelings, just shut it." Hawks muttered to himself and finished dishing up his meal, putting it on the dining table and leaving the rest of it on the stove so it wouldn't get cold.
