Rain, it was pouring again. Hawks barely had time to breathe when they reached the battlefield, he walked close to Endeavor when there was a loud thunder like echo blasting their ears.

He's already here, fuck. 

The number two hero only panicked at the thought of Dabi most likely being fought off right now, All for ones appearance didn't really bother him.

"Let's do this number one, it's just the demon lord himself we'll manage!" he spread his wings and emerged into the sky. The sound of ragdoll talking through his earpiece caught his attention. "Group of Endeavor and Hawks, All for ones position is precisely a hundred meters right in front of you nya!" she let them know and before Hawks could even procces it, reddish black tendrils shot right at him.

This was the first attack, and it would not take him down. The blonde dodged and now finally saw the wielder of this quirk. Not a single scratch was left and he changed his route, with a sharp feather in his hands he charged at All for one.

I'm just the decoy, of course I can't take him down by myself!

"I see, they sent the bird hero to fight me?" the villain clapped his hands as Hawks landed a few meters away from him. "Yeah, this 'bird hero' will gladly beat your ass."

The air ran cold against his skin making him shiver. Would he be able to do this? How was Dabi doing right now? I can't believe I'm thinking about this guy in midst of a fight! Get out of my head!

Hawks shook his head for clearance and the villain took this as an opening to attack, barely missing the hero. Well, he was just too fast to get caught. That's what those pretty wings are for.

"Not here for chitchat." Hawks tried to land a hit and again just barely managed to dodge.

That was when it was Endeavors time to shine. The flame hero let out a rage full scream and rushed past the blonde, landing a hit on All for one resulting in both of them going down. Again there was an unbearable heat but Hawks jumped far enough away from the blow.

"Hawks, well done." Ehehe, I like being praised.

He watched as All for one and Endeavor exchanged blows and soon stepped in again, fighting alongside his group.

The situation looked good altogether, up until Endeavor took a bad hit. And as soon as the number one went down, Hawks was next. All for one blew him off the sky and with a loud thud he crashed into ground. What once was a hopeful feeling turned to agony. We'll lose this, am I right?

The rain had drenched his whole body and the air was punched out of his lungs.

He laid there staring into the clouds hoping for a miracle. What am I doing? Get up! His arms and legs ached from trying to catch himself but he still got up. "You're still flying? Huh, must be a wonderful quirk you got there." said the demon lord and again he landed a hit on Hawks.

He thought the fight would be more spectacular or something, but it was just horribly draining.

One look to the side and he noticed everyone else to be dead. How can someone stay calm looking at a scene like that? At least Endeavor was still there. The weird guy who had confessed his feelings towards him like only a day ago.

Hawks and Endeavor both exchanged a serious stare and attacked again and again. Only when the rain stopped and the sun slowly peeked through a cloud, the stress dropped from their shoulders.

"A rainbow, now huh?" the blonde was down on one knee and holding up two big feathers. Can't get distracted by a rainbow now.

"What a pretty sight for your last day, am I right?" All for one laughed at the two and looked up himself. This time Hawks used it as an opening to attack and jumped, with a feather he tried slicing the villains body but fuck, it was a trap.

All for one knew Hawks would attack and with all his strength he crashed his body into the hard ground. Everything went black and his ears numb.

Like his soul left his body for a moment.

"Boss, I thought we had a deal." Whose voice is that? He sounds so... known? "I continue helping, and you don't harm my information source. Wanna get on my bad side?"

"Information source, sure. You meant your secret lover Dabi?"

Hawks opened his eyes and what he saw blew his mind. What is Dabi doing here? The flame villain had his chin up right in front of All for one. His voice was dead serious. Hawks quietly crawled away and met Endeavors eyes. He was just as shocked as the bird hero.

"You see what I'm seeing?" Endeavor forced his wounded body up and Hawks now also noticed the group who was supposed to handle Dabi.

Hawks heart raced in fear, it was his fault these two were about to cause even more problems. He's trying to protect me, in a situation like this..?

"Well, I've got just the right solution for you. I'll just kill him and then you'll focus on our actual mission." Both Dabi and All for one looked at Hawks who was just kneeling on the ground trying to catch his breath.

Everything went so fast, first All for one lifts his hand to shoot his tendrils at him. He was so close. Yet Dabi pulled the blonde away by his collar and blocked the attack with fire.

The pretty blue shimmer surrounded them and Hawks couldn't help but admire Dabis decision. Right now it was just them, in between heros and villains.

But how would they survive this?
